In a recent viral video, a man runs to save the life of a sea turtle stuck between coastal rocks. A 45-second video was uploaded on Reddit, documenting the heroic rescue attempt and the man's eventual success in freeing the turtle. This video will definitely bring a smile to your face.

In the video, the sea turtle, presumably stuck between two rocks, flails its flippers as waves crash over it. For a second, everything seemed to spin out of control as the turtle slipped deeper between the rocks. The man doesn’t seem to be giving up just yet, and he tries to push the turtle back up.

Generally, sea turtles can weigh from 73 to 110 lbs., and the man in the video is trying to put in a lot of effort to pull the turtle out. Apart from the weight, the rocks on such beaches are extremely slippery, which makes it impossible to hold a grip. The man is smart enough to stay safe by being attentive to the incoming waves and balancing on his feet. The heroic rescue of the giant turtle is captured on video as the guy bravely descends the steep stones. He not only pushes it out from between the rocks but also helps it gain a head start in the water.

Over 208k people have liked the post, and many others have commented. The community appreciated the man's selflessness. Some people said he was foolish to put himself in harm's way for the turtles, while others said he was very patient to deal with the hefty sea turtles. "It pales in comparison to all the damage we've done as a species, but seeing videos of humans rescuing seat turtles restores at least a little bit of faith in the fact that we aren't all just selfish rat-fucking polluters," one commented.

Another user said, "Today after work on my way home, I saw maybe the size of my palm a cute turtle crossing the street right in front of my car. I saw it and waited for it to safely cross before other cars carelessly drove over it. I’d like to think I did my part too." "Dangerous for this guy to do this. This is just primed for him to slip on those rocks hit his head and slip out to sea. That turtle would have gotten out when the tide came in," one of the users showed concern.

However, in Hawaii, it is illegal to touch a sea turtle. The Hawaiian people hold the sea turtle in the highest regard, and they are protected by both federal and state law. Touching them is considered rude and perhaps hazardous to the animals.

So, the best way to see these animals is to maintain a distance and not go near them. It is better not to approach, ride, or feed the turtles. Nor should you try to trap them between boats and coastlines. If you break this legislation, you risk a substantial fine or maybe jail time under the federal Endangered Species Act.
