A 6-year-old had to act fast when his mom fainted. He found an unlikely hero in an Amazon driver.
The amazing bravery of a six-year-old boy who saved his mother's life was the subject of an inspirational tale from Newtownards, Northern Ireland, that went viral on social media. The boy, Aidan, jumped into action when his mother, Elizabeth Crooks, fainted at home due to a medical emergency. He rushed outside without thinking, found a delivery man, and quickly called him for assistance. The doorbell video that captured Aidan's courageous moment of calm won praise from the internet, who appreciated the young boy's bravery and presence of mind, as reported by The Sun.
He politely asked the delivery driver, "Excuse me, can you help my mum? She fainted. Can you help her?" Without any delay, the delivery driver quickly opened the gate and rushed inside to help. The video then cuts to him standing outside, speaking with emergency services on the phone, per the outlet. Reflecting on the ordeal, Crooks expressed immense pride in her son for staying composed and polite while seeking help during such a frightening moment. Crooks was suffering from Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition affecting how the brain sends signals to the body, as reported by Belfast Live. Grateful for the driver's quick response, Crooks revealed she eventually tracked him down—a man named Bryan—to personally thank him for his incredible kindness.

While talking about her son's incredible gesture, Crooks said, "It was such a shock to the system. When I came around, all I could see was the high-visibility vest, so I automatically thought it was the paramedics, to be honest. And Aiden had wrapped me in a blanket and went and got a bucket. Obviously, I had said, 'Mummy doesn't feel well,' so he must have thought that meant I was going to be sick." In a different interview with This Morning, Crooks talked about how she takes pride in having regular conversations with her children about emergencies because of her health, making them a natural part of their lives. Yet, it was nothing short of astounding to see her son use that knowledge with composure.
Crooks said, "I really did just share to show this is why you teach your kids, 'Look how calm he was. He knew it was okay to reach out to a stranger in certain scenarios.' I couldn't get over it when I was watching it." Though Aiden appeared calm in the video, Crooks revealed his emotions surfaced when the ambulance arrived. She said, "When I was in the ambulance about to go, he did get very upset. He sort of realized mummy is 'ill-ill.' It's hard for them to understand. I just can't believe it to be honest." She also mentioned that the timing couldn't have been worse—the incident happened on a day when people were away on holiday, with no one nearby to help.

As the video went viral, viewers applauded both the delivery driver’s kindness in listening to Aiden and the boy’s remarkable quick thinking. Bryan, the driver, responded to one of the viral clips, expressing relief that the woman was okay and praising her for raising such incredible kids. He also assured curious viewers that he still had a job and that Amazon was behind him. Later on, Crooks started a GoFundMe campaign to buy a panic button for her house so she would be ready for any emergencies in the future. She also wanted to buy a well-deserved present for the driver who helped her.
