Social media has taken over the world and every other person, from a little toddler to a grandma in her 90s, likes to share their creative works and ideas on the internet. When it comes to elderly content creators, it's adorable watching them adapt to this modern world. Recently, an 88-year-old grandfather from Spain launched his own YouTube channel (@grapelart) where he consistently shares his artworks. Exploring a new avenue has been exciting for the grandpa, and the outpouring of love and support impacted him so much that he made physical copies of all the appreciation he got on his videos.

A few days ago, the man's granddaughter and Reddit user u/dirkzlatan shared the octogenarian’s extraordinary feat on the internet. “My grandfather (88) recently started uploading content to YouTube and printed out all the comments from his videos into a little book,” she captioned the post. In one of the pinned comments, the granddaughter further revealed that he asked her to “save all the comments” from his videos onto a USB soon after he began sharing his art on YouTube. She gladly got the job done, but did not have an idea about the purpose behind it. Unbeknownst to her, a wholesome story was unfolding behind the scenes, something she would end up cherishing forever.

“Then, all by himself, he took it to a print shop and had them printed and bound into a small book. Now, he flips through it and reads the comments whenever he wants. I’ve never seen him so happy and proud,” the Reddit user mentioned. To add, she explained that she had actually filtered out the 500+ comments stored in the USB drive and removed any bit of hate from the collection for her grandpa “so he wouldn’t have to deal with unnecessary negativity.” Yet, that was not the end of this heartwarming story. In a reply to a comment, the granddaughter also disclosed that her grandpa had made “two copies of the ‘book’– one was for me.”

“I respectfully told him that I could watch it on my phone or computer anytime, that it would always be online, so now he has two copies just in case he loses one. When I got home, I started crying,” the Reddit user recounted. Touched by her grandpa’s innocence, she could not resist sharing the moving encounter with the internet. A brilliant snap of her grandpa grinning from ear to ear while holding ‘the’ book was shared along with the Reddit post.

People showered love and appreciation on the grandpa-granddaughter duo with supportive messages acknowledging the instance. “Gramps raised a good grandkid. You have my permission to print that for him. Or for your own book,” wrote one viewer (u/PrayForMojo_) while another fellow Reddit user (u/SerenaBlush) noted, “I just came in to say that your gramps is awesome! He got one more subscriber.” A person (u/brandibanana) suggested that the granddaughter accept the book as a gift. The comment read, “You should tell him you thought about it and wanted the booklet so you can read it in case the internet goes down. I think he would be happy for you to have it, truly.” Someone else (u/Plmb_wfy) chimed, “I wish he were my Grandpa. You are incredibly lucky to have him.”
