Julie Newmar continued to have her 90th birthday celebrations two weeks after her actual birthday with a private supper with friends
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Julie Newmar is making her 90th birthday count. Two weeks after her actual birthday on August 16, she hosted a private supper with friends to keep her birthday celebrations going. The actress is most well-known for playing Catwoman in the 1960s 'Batman' television series.
The new nonagenarian's milestone birthday, however, still doesn't count as much as another date in her life. The day her son John Jewl Smith was born in 1981, was what made her "life great," she told Closer. Her son was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth.

"Parents should never feel like they have an afflicted child," she said. She described his art show at the Washington Reid Gallery in Culver City, California, and was pleased to announce that her "adorable" only child is a talented artist.
The celebrity outlined: "He's the cause of the great expansion of my outlook on life. He's responsible for my understanding and practice of unconditional love," as reported by Closer.
She posted pictures from his 41st birthday party from the previous year in March. Providing the entertainment for the evening was a clown who initially appeared in a chef's attire and then appeared in a red suit and coordinating bowler hat.

On September 1, 2023, Newmar captioned a photo of herself dining with friends, writing, "Friends for dinner at my 90th - so much love." Her black sweater contrasted brilliantly with the shock of white hair on her head.
She posed for the photograph with a joyous expression while signalling to the grinning folks nearby with her spread hands. In front of her was a chocolate cake with a gold 90 topping it.

Newmar was born on August 16, 1933, and celebrated her birthday in different settings last year. She shared a photo of herself with her son, John Jewl Smith, and other family members during a banquet in early September 2022.
Madonna, Kathie Lee Gifford, Marvel filmmaker Taika Waititi, and Angela Bassett all dropped in on Newmar's big day.
Before she became more involved in social media, the Broadway star wrote about her life on her blog, Julie Newmar Writes. She wrote about her experience with "The Big C" in a post dated May 12, no year indicated.
She wrote, "Last week was the 7th or 8th surgery for cancer I have had on my face. I don't understand, I never went out in the sun. My mother's advice was always wise."
The 1960s pinup featured an essay she discovered online about the "Emotional Causes of Cancer. There are seven stated typical personality traits found in those with cancer," said the survivor. "I'm 100% guilty as described."
Julie Newmar acknowledged to seeing Dr. Moelleken, a "fancy doctor in Beverly Hills," because, as the breadwinner for five people, her "face is important."
