Curious 6-year-old wonders if it's necessary to 'have a husband' — her mom's response is pure gold

Who says raising children is easy? Every day, they come up with a million questions that aren't really easy to answer, yet the parents have to somehow tackle them with love and patience. Now, remember, you can't just choose not to answer them, as it will make them even more confused. So, believe it or not, parenting is a game of chess; some days, winning looks like a piece of cake, and the other days, you struggle to even guess your opponent's next move. On a related note, Brittney, a mother of a 6-year-old girl who goes by @bgreenish on Instagram, captured the astonishing moment her daughter surprised her with the most unexpected question.

It all happened when Brittney was watching a movie that had a kissing scene in it. Perhaps, out of curiosity, she, herself, initiated a conversation about "what age you're allowed to kiss" with her daughter. "This is why I started recording. Age 40 was her answer!" Brittney shared with Newsweek. In the viral video, which has now got over 13 million views online, the woman who was watching some movie with her daughter sitting beside her on the couch, was caught off guard when she, out of the blue, was asked, "Do you have to have to husband?"
While what led to the young girl asking her mother this innocent question isn't clear, that small yet profound moment reveals more than just the child's curiosity. "Nope," Brittney answered immediately, to which her daughter couldn't help smiling, as if relieved by the news. "I laughed immediately, and the conversation didn't really go further than that. We often have open conversations, so I never expected this to blow up the way it has," the woman revealed. Meanwhile, Brittney's wholesome video received an overwhelming response on social media.
Some appreciated the mom for raising her daughter in a way that she isn't afraid to ask questions, and some shared their own experiences. For instance, a user, @user3369176776156, commented, "Cute. And in all seriousness, this is an extremely important thing to teach kids, especially little girls. They are taught the opposite from a very young age." @quokkacakeroxy said, "Grateful that we get to live in an age where we can tell our daughters, 'Nope, only if you want to, bubba!'" Another user who goes by @alessiawisniewski, a mother, wrote, "Anytime I talk about my girl's future with them, I say, 'If you choose to get married' or 'if you choose to have kids.'"

On the other hand, @charmingonaccident revealed, "Mine asked if she has to have kids, and when I said no, she said, 'Thank God. I just want a peaceful life.'" A person, @pot_of_greed, said, "Imagine how proud countless generations of women are that we can confidently say, 'No, you don't have to have a husband.'" @venus.in.spurs wrote, "My daughter's exact same reaction when she asked me this when she was like 6." @alyssughbre commented, "As a person that grew up being told my worth was based on the man I married…. Thank you. It’s so healing to hear this from a mom. And seeing how comfortable she is asking these questions."
