Eric Trump praises his dad for burying Ivana Trump at golf course, says he has 'heart of gold'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Eric Trump, the second-eldest son of former president Donald Trump, described his father as a "amazing" man with a "heart of gold," citing his choice to have Eric's mother, Ivana Trump, buried at the New Jersey Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.

The former first son of the United States was asked during an interview with Republican politician turned news anchor Kari Lake, "Was your dad pretty supportive when all that happened, when your mother passed away?"

Eric said, "Incredibly. I will say so much so that you know we have a family funeral plot in New Jersey, and he was the one to say, you know, 'I want her with us.' ... It was pretty amazing again, you know, kind of a wife long removed — ex-wife long removed. He's an incredible man. He's got a heart of gold," he continued, as reported by OK Magazine.

Ron Filipkowski of the Meidas Touch shared that part of the one-hour interview on X, formerly known as Twitter, in a post that read, "Eric says it was amazing that his dad offered to bury his mom at Bedminster because a lot of people wouldn't do that for their ex-wives."

Ivana's memorial site in Bedminster is currently in an untidy state, with weeds growing all around it to the point where her name is all but unreadable, as several of the most popular comments on the post point out.

One of the users wrote, "He's right. A lot of people wouldn't do that for their ex-wives." Another commented, "Yeah, he was really thoughtful. Put her on Hole 15 off in the woods. Right next to the Port-a-S---er and the smoking pit."

Trump and Ivana were married from 1977 to 1992

The couple, who were married from 1977 to 1992, had Ivanka Trump, now 41, as their first child. Eric, 39, and Donald Jr, 45, are the couple's other two children.

The former entrepreneur died unexpectedly at the age of 73 on July 14, 2022. She had suffered blunt impact injuries from a fall down the stairs when she was discovered dead in her New York townhouse.

Ivana and Donald's marriage ended in 1992 after Ivana learned of her husband's liaison with Marla Maples, who would later become his second wife. The deceased media personality later established her own lucrative careers as a businesswoman, fashion designer, and author.

Following her death, Donald paid tribute to Ivana, calling her a "beautiful, amazing" woman and praising her close relationship with their children.

On social media, Ivanka also paid her mother moving tributes, including an emotional Instagram post on the first anniversary of her demise.

The former first daughter wrote, "Today marks one year since my mom passed. Her illuminating and immeasurable imprint on our lives remains with us every day. Miss you more than you know mama."
