A wedding is an incredibly special day, one that is filled with love, excitement, and often, a lot of tradition. For Brittany Thompson, her wedding day was no exception. As she prepared to walk down the aisle, her father gifted her his mother's blue sapphire bracelet. The bracelet held sentimental value for Thompson, as it was a family treasure that had been passed down from her grandmother. As mentioned by NBC2, unfortunately, the bracelet was lost the night of the wedding. Thompson was devastated and immediately began to panic. She called the venue first thing in the morning, but all trash cans had already been emptied out. Her husband took immediate action, speaking with the garbage truck driver, named Jeff, and requesting permission to dig through the trash dump.

After receiving permission, Jeff and his team searched through the piles of garbage. Thompson almost gave up hope until she saw a sliver of hay sticking out of a white bag. The hay was part of the photo op at her venue, and as she continued to pull out items from the bag, she found the bracelet. "For him to do that — it's not a shock for anybody that knows him," said Bill Jones, Divisional Vice President for Waste Pro. "Jeff did the right thing."

"I was like, 'oh my goodness', I just freaked out and stuff and was like, 'Can I give you a hug?'" said Thompson, expressing her gratitude towards the Waste Pro team. Waste Pro was proud to be a part of this special find. "Our employees are from the communities that they serve, and they all enjoy helping," said Jones. The story of Thompson's lost and found bracelet is like a needle in a haystack, except it was a bracelet in a pool of garbage that was eventually found. It is a testament to the willpower and the kindness of strangers. In a world that can often feel cold and uncaring, it is heartwarming to know that there are people like Jeff and his team who will go above and beyond to help someone in need.

This story is also a reminder of the importance of family heirlooms and the sentimental value they hold. Thompson's bracelet may have just been a piece of jewelry to some, but to her, it was a tangible connection to her grandmother and her family's history. Losing it would have been devastating, but the Waste Pro team's efforts made all the difference. Even in the midst of chaos and uncertainty, there are people who will go above and beyond to help others. It is a story of determination, kindness, and the power of family heirlooms to connect us to our past and future.
