Garth Brooks shares secret of 18-year marriage with Trisha Yearwood, reveals famous couple inspired them
Garth Brooks, 61, stressed on the importance of 'bickering back and forth about the right way to do things'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are one of those rare celebrity couples who have not only made a strong mark in their profession but have also inspired people with their strong relationship.
But the singers credit another gem pair — Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter — for the positive influence.

‘We loved the Carters’
The Carters celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in 2021, and Garth and Trisha reportedly presented them with a 1946 red convertible.
The veteran duo’s close pal Jill Stuckey told People at the time, “Bright eyes and big smiles and ... very excited time, but there was so much special [about the day] because [of] the people that were here from all aspects of their lives.”

They told People, “After Katrina in '07, we fell in love with Habitat for Humanity. We knew we loved the Carters and we fell more in love with them just getting a chance to work alongside them.”
“We love what Habitat for Humanity is about: spreading love. It is about creating community,” the pair stated.
‘They’ve also inspired us by their example as husband and wife’
‘The Dance’ singer’s admiration for the former president and the ex-first lady does not stop there.
He shared, “They’ve inspired us in a lot of ways, in the ways you expect: humanity, humbleness, work ethic. But they’ve also inspired us by their example as husband and wife.”
“We worked beside them for the last 15 years, and you notice right away they bicker back and forth about the right way to do things. That kind of works for us too!” Garth, who married Trisha in 2005, added.
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were 'good friends for a long time'
The ‘She's In Love With The Boy’ singer gave her seal of approval to her husband by asserting, “To whom much is given, much is expected. We’ll never fill their shoes, but we’re doing the best we can.”

Another secret for a long-lasting marriage is friendship, Trisha earlier shared.
She told Closer Weekly in 2019, “I’m madly in love with him. We were such good friends for such a long time [before we married], so I think at the end of the day, it’s the friendship and the respect that sustains you.”
