Guy challenges a D1 track star thinking no woman could beat him in a race — it went as expected

Do you remember seeing the ad asking people to "run like a girl?" Well, a very life version of the concept has been circulating online, with all the more satisfactory ending. A female D1 track star was challenged to compete in a 400-meter race by her boyfriend's friend. The "gentleman" who exuded overconfidence in all his spirits, given he never exercised or ran, was destroyed rather remarkably by the runner in the most iconic fashion.

A recent TikTok shared by Alahna Sabbakhan (@quadmutha) features a 400-meter race between her and her boyfriend's friend, as she contextualizes the whole instance with a voice-over. She shares, "I am a D1 track athlete, and for some reason, I raced my boyfriend's friend over 400 meters, as he refused to believe that a woman could not beat him in a race." She further puts forth that this man is not a runner and does not even regularly exercise, but still thinks, for some reason, that he could beat her.

Since the star athlete was already at the track with her boyfriend, she graciously agreed to the friend's requests to join them there. But to her surprise, the friend invited his family and friends as spectators. She remarks, "He invited both of his parents, his friends, and his family to watch, and I wondered what the heck I have got myself into." Well, what's more satisfactorily surprising was what went down during the race.
@quadmutha Your girl is back on the track! lol I’m a former d1 800m runner who finished up last May and give been going for runs and doing some heavy lifting since then. But I’d be decided I’m going to get back in shape for the 400m myself and wrote an 18-week training plan that I can’t wait to try out and see how I progress. I’m gonna document my little training journey here starting with this 400 time trial. (Edit: i think the time was actually 1:06 my bf doesn’t know how to time🤣)

Sabbakhan narrates that as the race began, she just stayed with the man for the first 200 meters. She asserts, "I am not exerting myself for no reason, I got nothing to prove." The athlete added, "If you are crazy enough to challenge a 400-800 athlete to a 400 race, I am not gonna correct you." The video showcases the man losing wind after 200 meters, with Sabbakhan citing that his lack of fitness caught up to him. She explains that since he does not have practiced running at all, his lack of fitness really hit him hard after 200 meters.

After 200 meters, Sabbakhan took the lead. She relays that "I just took off after 200 meters. I finished hard because that's what you do as a track runner." This also turned out to be one of the practice reps for her 400 workouts, and she finished this particular cycle in 57 seconds, about which she was pleased. The post garnered over 15 million views on TikTok and thousands of internet users rushed to the comment section to glorify the athlete.

"People done realize how hard a 400 is…it’s a full lap sprint! And an 800 is a run for one lap and a sprint right after. Literally the hardest races," pointed out @minajetrois6019. "I would not have had the grace to 'stay with him' at the beginning, because now I'd expect to hear, 'I had you at the first half though,'" quipped @knocktopus. "I just know he thought he had it in the bag when you were keeping pace with him," added @d0pebby to which Sabbakhan replied, "Unfortunately, he still thinks he was close because of this, not realizing we went through 200 in 29- what 8-year-old old girls run. What i open 800 in."
@quadmutha Just to clarify, I did NOT want to race this man😂 I was already at the track with my bf doing a work out and he came to join. ##trackandfield##running ♬ Diamondz n Roses - VaporGod
