'He likes to stay at home': Joe Jonas never wanted to break up but Sophie Turner's ‘partying' took a toll
After seven years of marriage, the musician, 34, and his 27-year-old actress wife reportedly fell out due to their disparate lives

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prior to filing for divorce on Tuesday, September 5, as a "last resort," Joe Jonas reportedly tried to save his marriage to Sophie Turner.
After seven years of marriage, the musician, 34, part of the band Jonas Brothers, and his 27-year-actress wife, famous for 'Game of Thrones,' reportedly fell out due to their disparate lives.
The Jonas Brothers' hitmaker obtained a petition for dissolution of marriage in Miami Dade County, Florida, amid recent rumors of their separation.
'The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken'
In the petition, Joe is requesting joint custody of their two daughters, Willa, 3, and their unnamed 1-year-old, claiming that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken." According to a current insider, divorce was "the last resort for Joe."

They said, "He never wanted to break up his family, but he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls." According to the source, he and Sophie "were going through it this year" and "an unhappy home isn't a home," according to Page Six.
They said,"There’s a lot of noise out there, but it wasn’t a straw-that-broke-the-camel’s-back situation like it’s being reported.
"It just kept building, and Joe finally reached a point where he felt that he had exhausted all options to salvage the marriage."
A source revealed to TMZ, "She likes to party, he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles."
The tabloid also stated that the pair had been having relationship troubles "for the last six months," with Joe largely caring for their two children while on tour.

Sophie, who apparently has a "ironclad prenup" with Joe, is currently working in the UK, with the couple "living separate lives for months," according to People. Joe and Sophie began dating in 2016 and married three years later.
While they were engaged, the couple starred in the Jonas Brothers' music video for their 2019 single 'Sucker', which hit number four in the UK charts, alongside Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle and Nick Jonas and wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas, as reported by Metro.
