LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Multimillionaire actor Hugh Jackman has always been a thrifty person, but as per reports, he is reportedly spending a fortune in self-indulgences ever since he became single.

In the wake of his unexpected divorce announcement from Deborra-Lee Furness, 67, after 27 years of marriage, insiders claim that the 55-year-old 'Wolverine' star has gone on a pampering binge and underwent a beauty makeover.

Hugh Jackman is 'going over the top with workouts'

According to reports, the recently single Jackman is dedicated to changing his appearance.

"He's going over the top with his workouts and buying state-of-the-art equipment," a source told the National Enquirer.

There are even rumors that Jackman recruited his fashionable male pals to assist him in kicking his old habits.

The insider continued, "He's replacing his old wardrobe with hip designer duds and his metrosexual guy friends are turning him on to a stylist to help him with manscaping," as reported by RadarOnline.

According to reports, Jackman is happy stepping outside of his comfort zone and is willing to try new things with his altered persona. 

The source said, "Now he's talking about dying his hair a different shade and bleaching his teeth."

"Looking into expanding his personal car collection with something outrageous like a Ferrari or a Lamborghini," the insider said of the 'Greatest Showman' star.

Hugh Jackman is 'buying the stuff he doesn't need'

The source said, "Deb would have rolled her eyes over this, but that's kind of the point, For the first time in his life, he's buying the stuff he doesn't need — and it's giving him a desperately needed thrill!"

Although Jackman seemed to be content with his newfound independence as a multimillionaire single, the actor was apparently affected negatively by his breakup with Furness.

Although the couple put up a united front when announcing their divorce, Jackman was reportedly "devastated" by the breakup of his marriage.

The insider claimed, "This wasn't his choice and he's devastated. He's just going along with the divorce because he wants Deb to be happy."

Hugh Jackman is 'doing what he wants'

The source claimed that although Jackman's recent spendings have have reportedly made a dent in his wealth already, the couple still intended to split his $290 million fortune.

"Deb was the voice of reason when it came to spending, but she's not there and he's doing what he wants, It's been liberating."

Furness and Jackman surprised fans by announcing their amicable breakup in mid-September. The couple described their union as a "loving, wonderful marriage," but they also stated that "we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth" because "our journey now is shifting."

Without Furness, whom he "adored," insiders claimed that Jackman was "totally lost." Together, Jackman and Furness are parents to Oliver, 23, and Ava, 18.
