Hugh Jackman’s new photo ‘suggests pain’ as he tries ‘to move on’ from Deborra-Lee Furness

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Jackman does not seem to be happy and his old energetic self after his split from his wife of over two decades, Deborra-Lee Furness, a body language expert has said.

The ex-pair announced their separation last week via a joint statement. They said, “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

What did Hugh Jackman post on social media?

On Thursday, September 21, the ‘X-Men’ star posted two photos on his Instagram.

The first slide showed him sitting while the second one was the poster of for the Global Citizen Festival.

In the caption, Jackman wrote, “Let’s go @glblctzn festival!!! This weekend in NYC - rain or shine.”

“If you have tickets, have a great time in Central Park. (Or you can watch live. Click the link on my stories or Thread),” he added.

Expert claims ‘Hugh's smile looks incongruent’

Body language expert Judi James has now commented on Jackman’s demeanor and what it conveys.

She told The Mirror, “It's so sad to see a man whose entire brand is about energy, optimism and cheerfulness suddenly looking so sad.

“Hugh is clearly wanting to re-boot that more upbeat brand following the split from his wife but his body language here fails to convince.”

James, however, also pointed toward a positive side while referring to the ‘Logan’ star’s photo.

She stated, “His pose looks open and his posture appears to be relaxed. That choice of a black T-shirt with the thick red circle on it seems to project a message of continuity as in 'Life goes on'.”

The expert went on to mention, “Hugh's smile looks incongruent though, because it is asymmetric.

“One side of his face wears an expression of resigned good humor but the other half, (his right side) seen by itself, suggests pain.”

“The brow is puckered, with a strong frown line and a strong line between the nostril and the mouth. His mouth on that one side is pulled up slightly at the corner but more in a wince than a smile,” she added.

Why did Hugh Jackman and  Deborra-Lee Furness split?

The former loving couple did not reveal the reason behind their separation.

But in their statement, they noted, “Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”

The duo continued, “We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives,” as they asserted, “This is the sole statement either of us will make.”
