'I was wrong': Cher recalls Sonny Bono's heartfelt apology after he 'royally hurt' her
'The fact that he came and said it meant something to me, that at least he acknowledged that he had been hurtful,' said Cher

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sonny Bono apologized to Cher years after he had "royally hurt" her. The 77-year-old singer was known for fronting a duo with her then-husband Sonny from 1964 until their divorce in 1975, but she has now revealed that although he "royally hurt" her, he later came to her house to make amends.
She told People, "He p****d me off royally and hurt me. One day he came into the kitchen at my house and said, "Cher, I want to apologise. I realized that I hurt you in so many ways, and I was wrong."

Cher says that Sonny Bono 'acknowledged' his mistakes
She said the apology helped in partially healing their rift before his death. "That went a long way for me. It didn't cure everything. The fact that he came and said it meant something to me, that at least he acknowledged that he had been hurtful," the singer recalled.
The 'Believe' hitmaker had one child, Chaz, now 54, with her late husband, Sonny, who died in a skiing accident in 1998 at the age of 62. Cher claimed working together on music was the "easiest part" of their relationship.
She said, "Working together was the easiest part of it, because we really made each other laugh. You can't fake that kind of stuff."
Cher is currently dating Alexander 'AE' Edwards

Alexander "AE" Edwards, a 37-year-old music producer, and Cher have been dating since November. Cher called her new man "special" and admitted she enjoyed spending time with him.
She said, "I hate when people say people are special, but lots of people say I'm special, so I can say that he's special. No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh, and we have fun."
She added, "What I learned is that it's never too late. If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, 'Well, this is doomed.' But we've been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would've been worth it. I've had the best time."
She recalls meeting him "for about 15 minutes" at a Paris Fashion Week event a year ago, and a mutual friend gave him her phone number. Cher says, "It was really shocking, because people just don't give out my number," as reported by People.
