MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: A four-year-old boy has lost his life after he tried to save his three siblings from a fatal fire.

Isaac McGregor died on October 25 in a hospital while two of his siblings couldn’t survive the blaze and died on the spot, the Daily Mail reported.

The fourth child is believed to be still struggling for her life in the hospital.

How did the tragedy happen?

As per a GoFundMe page, Isaac, along with his siblings — sisters Mavis, six, and Ashlynn, 18 months, and his three-year-old brother Saige — was playing in a garden shed on October 22.

Tragedy struck when a couch caught fire.

The children’s mother Jasmine Beck fought hard to save them and also found Isaac trying to protect his sisters and brother from the fire using his body.

However, “Ashlynn and Saige lost their lives and are now beautiful angels,” the fundraiser said.

In a devastating update, the GoFundMe page added, “25th of October Issac sadly grew his wings and reunited with his baby brother and sister. He will always be remembered as the heroic young boy who gave his life trying to protect his siblings.”

Isaac McGregor’s father says he ‘couldn't be any prouder of him’

Following Isaac’s death, his heartbroken father reportedly shared, “[Beck] said once she finally got the couch moved and grabbed Mavis first, Isaac had the other two huddled under him so that they didn't burn, like he stayed there until he died himself.”

He continued, “They revived him and flew him [to Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital],” before asserting, “I couldn't be any prouder of him really.”

McGregor further stated, “What four-year-old huddles over their two little siblings?”

Recalling the time before the unfortunate incident, the father added, “As I was leaving, Isaac ran up and gave me a cuddle and a kiss. An hour later I get the phone call... I haven't even dealt with it yet, I'm just here with the other two.”
