He wrote, “Seattle has been my home since 1994 when I started Amazon out of my garage. That’s my dad behind the camera in this video, touring Amazon’s first ‘office.’”

The Amazon boss continued, “My parents have always been my biggest supporters. They recently moved back to Miami, the place we lived when I was younger (Miami Palmetto High class of ’82 — GO Panthers!)."

“I want to be close to my parents, and Lauren and I love Miami. Also, Blue Origin’s operations are increasingly shifting to Cape Canaveral,” he noted, before revealing, “For all that, I’m planning to return to Miami, leaving the Pacific Northwest.”

“As exciting as the move is, it’s an emotional decision for me. Seattle, you will always have a piece of my heart,” he concluded.

A user commented, “The most powerful part of this all is that he [Bezos’ father] filmed this solely because he believed so strongly in his vision that he would one day look back on the video and think ‘Wow, look how far I’ve come’.”

Another user shared, “You came a mighty long way, Jeff, with true determination, and the backings of Almighty God, you Amazon started from the bottom and worked your way up past the Havens into the Earth's atmosphere in space with everything you’ve ever done.”

A third added, “Jeff, your story is the greatest example of victory, in the business world that I follow, you won the ‘What if’... I hope to meet you and the new Amazon headquarters, another factor too, is that I am a Capriconian, just like you. The world will also know my story, it is a journey full of difficulties, but winning is the only option. @jeffbezos.”
