Bobby took break from 'Strictly Come Dancing' practice for 2023 National Television Awards
Bobby took a break from 'Strictly Come Dancing' practices yesterday (September 5) to prepare for the 2023 National Television Awards, which aired on ITV and were hosted by Joel Dommett.
The young actor competed in the 'Rising Star' category at the ceremony, which ended in Bobby's victory.
As the EastEnders cast and crew looked on, Bobby ended up dedicating the award to his father Jeff, who was in tears as his son accepted the sparkling trophy, as reported by Mirror.
Bobby says dad Jeff's 'because I can' mantra helped him succeed
He said, "Over the course of the last 20 years I've heard him say, "because I can". It was a mantra of his and him just saying that, "because I can". Because I can, why not?'"
The young actor then spotted Jeff in the crowd and said, "No, you're crying."
Overall, it was a wonderful night for EastEnders, as the BBC One drama also won Best Serial Drama and Danielle Harold won Best Serial Drama Performance.
EastEnders has welcomed back characters such as Cindy (Michelle Collins) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and introduced the Knight family.
The series also aired many powerful storylines such as Lola Pearce's death, Amy Mitchell's (Ellie Dadd) struggle with her mental health, and Suki's (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve's (Heather Peace) complicated love story in the last year.
