Jennifer Garner shows her tender side as she helps barefoot homeless man, nearly gives away her shoes

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Garner showed her heart is in the right place by assisting a homeless man in a parking lot on Sunday, September 17, in Los Angeles.

The 51-year-old actress was seen chatting with a man using a wheelchair before presenting him with a care package of necessary items in the Santa Monica beach's parking lot.

When she realized he didn't have shoes, she jumped out of her car to assist him in donning some warm socks and even attempted to give him the shoes off her own feet, as reported by Daily Mail.

The actress from '13 Going On 30' generously gave him food and some cash after spending time with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, the day before. In a video clip, she can be heard asking the photographer if she can buy his shoes since her own were too small for the homeless man.

After declining payment and offering his own shoes for free, the photographer gave her a spare set of clothes and a blanket to give to the man too.

After the homeless man changed into his newly-gifted clothes, Garner can be heard in the video trying to assist him in donning warm socks.

She was also seen in the video showing him the items in the thoughtfully packaged goodie bag and opening a food packet before giving it to him.

The mother-of-three stopped to assist the man while ostensibly out for a stroll on the beach and on her way home.

She was seen wearing a trucker hat, dark camouflage leggings, and a white T-shirt — her casual workout attire. She was wearing a pair of aqua-colored sneakers, which were obviously a few sizes too small for the man but which she had removed from her feet to see if they might still fit.

Jennifer Garner works for Save the Children

Despite being well-known for gracing the big screen, the adored and award-winning actress also makes use of her significant platform to do good.

She works for the Save the Children, a global nonprofit organisation, for more than ten years. This NGO committed to promoting the health, education, and safety of children.

In an interview with Southern Living that was published in November 2022, she discussed how her upbringing inspired her to always want to help those in need.

She revealed to the publication that she was raised in a remote part of West Virginia.

She clarified that she donates her time and energy because she has witnessed firsthand the terrible effects of poverty.

She said, "While I did not grow up poor, I was surrounded by it, And I always said, I was a generation and a holler removed from rural poverty."

As a result, she stated that she sought out the philanthropic organization Save the Children because "they are definitely the leaders helping kids in rural America."

She told the outlet, "I've worked with Save the Children for the last 14 years, And I hunted them down when I had been researching what organization had the most efficacy in rural America. "

She added, "Because I grew up in West Virginia where I knew some kids that could really use a helping hand."
