LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When Jennifer Garner visited her parents in West Virginia for the weekend, she surprised William John Garner with a joyride in the car he had driven and loved as a child. Undoubtedly, the unexpected outing earned her loads of brownie points as the 'best daughter ever.'
In a photo carousel post for her 14.6 million Instagram followers, the 'Elektra' actress shared a picture of herself smiling alongside her happy father in front of a 1948 Studebaker Champion and wrote, "36 hours at home."
Adding a note, she wrote, "Dad's early birthday surprise: a ride in his childhood car, a 1948 Studebaker Champion, with kind and generous David King." She also included a detail about the touching photo with her father. On September 21, he turns 85 years old.

Whether she later bought him the car is not known. The 51-year-old 'Alias' star looked stunning as she posed makeup-free while walking arm in arm with her father.
She was wearing a basic grey T-shirt and a pair of dark denim jeans, keeping her hair loose around her shoulders. Living single after her divorce from Ben Affleck, Garner had a jam-packed itinerary for her trip home, including hosting an 'Once Upon A Farm' multipack giveaway at the Kroger in her hometown.
The business, which focuses on organic baby food, smoothies, and applesauce for kids, was co-founded in 2017 by Jennifer. "I can't imagine life without my little sister, Susannah," the brunette beauty wrote with affection in the caption for the picture with her sibling.
She added, "We missed you Melissa!" as a shout-out to her older sister Melissa Garner Wylie.
The ageless actress, who is known for her heartfelt tributes to her family, also included a picture of herself hugging her nephew at a soccer game and wrote, "I love my nephew," substituting the word "love" for a red heart emoji.
'The Catch Me If You Can' actress included a picture with her former teacher Nina Lu Pasinetti in the family-filled photo carousel after Pasinetti, who Garner described as "beloved ballet teacher, mentor, and second mother," attended her Kroger event.
The 'Pearl Harbor' actress also shared a funny video of herself attempting to cook, making the joke that "Jen's cooking = smoke alarm," in addition to selfies with her family and friends.
Octavia Spencer, one of many famous people who left comments on the actress' photo carousel, wrote: "War eagle to your sister. She has great taste in tshirts!" referring to the rallying cry of Auburn University.
The down to earth celebrity spent just 36 hours in West Virginia, but she made the most of it by going to see her nephew play soccer and posting selfies on her Instagram stories.
She proudly posed for a photo in front of Ellen's Homemade Ice Cream in Charleston while sporting the same outfit she had on when she had surprised her father with a gift for his early birthday.
She also made the joke, "What am I, a soccer expert?" as she and her sister Susannah watched her nephew play in a soccer match in a video posted as part of the photo carousel.
A photo of the West Virginia capitol building, and a beautiful photo of Garner watching a pink-tinged sunset, concluded her photo recap of her jam-packed trip.
