LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lauren Sanchez said she was left speechless by the size of the diamond sparkler her soon-to-be husband Jeff Bezos proposed with.

The 53-year-old former TV anchor recalled how the founder of Amazon popped the question during an opulent boat excursion to the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Sanchez 'blacked out a bit' after seeing the diamond ring

Sanchez said in Vogue's December issue, "When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit."

According to experts, her stunning 20-carat diamond is estimated to be worth a staggering $2.5 million, as reported by Page Six Style.

Sanchez continued, saying that she was shocked to learn that her fifty-nine-year-old beau was proposing to her when he hid the ring beneath her pillow.

"We're still thinking about the wedding, what it's going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don't know yet. We've only been engaged five months," she said, as per reports.

In response to a question regarding her wedding dress, Sanchez hinted that she has a few designers in mind for the gown.

The soon-to-be Mrs Bezos listed her favorite fashion houses as Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, and Valentino and stated she has yet to make any firm decisions. "There's so many incredible designers," she said. "Once I get a minute, I'll slow down," as reported by Page Six.

As per reports, the couple hosted a star-studded engagement party on Sunday in Beverly Hills, California, at the residence of media mogul Barry Dille and designer Diane Von Furstenberg.

Stars like Salma Hayek, Chris Rock, and Kim Kardashian mingled with celebrities like Barbra Streisand and Oprah Winfrey at the party.

Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, attended the events alongside Kris Jenner, Rita Wilson, Gayle King, Jessica Alba, designer Stacy Bendet, and Deborra-Lee Furness, the ex-girlfriend of Hugh Jackman.

Jeff Bezos gave a 'heartfelt' speech

The founder of Amazon reportedly gave his fiancee "an incredible" and "heartfelt" speech.

Additionally, Jewel, the singer of the 1990s hit song 'Pieces of You', performed an original song she wrote for the pair called 'Legendary', a source told Page Six.

The pair has been incredibly close since they started dating. Page Six revealed that the couple's romance began in 2019, but they remained quiet until his divorce from MacKenzie Scott, his wife of 25 years, was finalized.

Rumors of the couple's engagement started to circulate after Sanchez was spotted in December 2019 sporting a massive heart-shaped sparkler.

Sanchez was divorced from Hollywood talent scout Patrick Whitesell, with whom she had two children, Ella, 15, and Evan, 16 years old, at the time of her involvement with Bezos.

Additionally, Sanchez and Tony Gonzalez, a former NFL player, have a 22-year-old son named Nikko.

The couple recently declared that to be closer to Bezos' family, they were leaving Seattle, the city where he founded his empire, for Miami's gorgeous oceanfront views.
