SINALOA, MEXICO: A happy moment for a family turned fatal when a plane they had hired for the 'gender reveal' moment crumbled and crashed, eventually taking the life of the pilot.

The 32-year-old Luis Angel N was the man flying the small jet, who died in the accident. The incident reportedly happened on September 2 in Sinaloa, Mexico, when unnamed parents-to-be were celebrating along with their friends and family.

The pair hired the Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee aircraft to release blue- or pink-colored trail in the sky to disclose if they were having a boy or a girl, the Daily Mail reported.

During the event, the plane flew over the guests with a pink trail behind it, indicating the pair would soon become parents of a girl. The videos of the incident posted on social media showed the couple kissing each other next to an “Oh baby” sign.

However, things soon took a dark turn when the pilot lost control and the jet crashed into the ground. After the accident, Angel N was taken to the hospital but could not be saved.

‘Failure after repeated design limits exceeded’

The deadly incident has attracted a little attention online as well and a user commented, “Every day the revelations become more sucky.”

The second user tweeted, “Failure after repeated design limits exceeded. Too many Gs ripping up after reveals.”

The third one shared, “The cameraman decided it was more important to record the parents rather than the plane that just lost both its wings. 😳 He delivered the package and his services were no longer required…”

“Imagine that when they grow up, they tell them the story of their “gender reveal”. What a sad pity for others,” the fourth one added.

Grandmother died during gender reveal

However, such mishaps are not new during gender reveal parties. Four years ago in 2019, an Iowa grandmother died because of a piece of shrapnel from a homemade "color bomb".

Pamela Kreimeyer died after a piece of metal hit her, taking her life immediately. At the time, a statement from Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt read, “The family got together for what they thought was going to be a happy event with no intent for anyone to get hurt.”

“What ended up happening was that Pamela Kreimeyer, a wife, mother, and grandmother, was killed by a piece of metal where a metal stand, gunpowder, and colored powder were involved,” it added.
