Lupita Nyong'o has confirmed her split from her boyfriend a day after being spotted with Joshua Jackson at a concert
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lupita Nyong'o and her boyfriend, Selema Masekela, have ended their relationship after the former sparked dating rumors with soon-to-be divorced Joshua Jackson.
The 40-year-old actress from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', who was seen with Jackson and friends at Janelle Monae's concert just hours earlier, announced the breakup on social media on Thursday, October 19.

Lupita Nyong'o's 'thoughts are with those who are suffering'
The actor said, "There are much more important things going on in the world right now, and my thoughts are with those who are deeply suffering." She was referring to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict at the outset of her long post. She appeared to be hurt by Masekela.
She added, "At this moment, it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust, I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception."
Nyong'o hopes 'this too shall pass'
Nyong'o subsequently stated that she was "reminded that the magnitude of the pain I am feeling is equal to the measure of my capacity for love," adding that she is "choosing to face the pain, cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is, and trusting that this too shall pass."
The actress added, "The promise, they say, is that a tender heart is what gives birth to fearlessness. I hope it’s true… I share this to keep it 💯, and hoping that the knowledge of my experience might be useful to someone else out there experiencing the grip of heartbreak who is poised to try and escape from the pain and miss out on the wisdom that comes from it."
After using the hashtag "Breakup," Nyong'o urged her followers to "face our pain so we don't spread it" in her final message. She had used an Instagram post in December 2022 to formally announce her relationship with Masekela.
Nyong'o's dating rumors with Joshua Jackson
Rumors of a potential romantic relationship were sparked by the 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' actress's attendance at Jackson's concert at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, the day before she announced the breakup, as reported by Radar Online.
Although Nyong'o and Jackson appeared to be very close, it was later revealed that they are simply friends and were with a group of about ten people. There was no romantic activity between the two, according to sources.
After almost four years of marriage, Jackson's wife Jodie Turner-Smith filed for divorce earlier this month. The 45-year-old actress of 'Queen & Slim' is seeking joint custody of their 3-year-old daughter, Janie, according to reports. She also stated unequivocally that neither Jackson nor she wants spousal support.
