Man tries his wife's Pilates workout thinking it's 'easy' — he was in for a 'rude awakening'

When it comes to physical fitness or exercise, men generally seem to be confident about their capabilities. From lifting heavier weights to smashing that incline button on the treadmill to prove their strength and endurance. On a similar note, a husband accompanied his wife to her Pilates class to settle the debate on whether it’s easy or not. Zach Webber, who goes by @zachwebber29 on TikTok, set his alarm to 6 a.m. to get up the next morning and drive to his wife Liz’s gym for a Pilates session. He documented every bit of the challenge, start to finish, before revealing his final verdict in a viral clip liked by 448,300 people.

Webber began his day with a little overconfidence while doing his regular morning routine. “It’s 6:00 AM, time to prove to my wife that Pilates is easy,” a note on the video stated. He and his wife drove to the class, where Liz figured her husband was “clueless” about the intensity of an average Pilates workout. The couple began their exercises adjacent to each other, and the stark contrast in their balance and stability showed. Webber struggled and slipped his way through the session and went home with shaky legs, proving quite the opposite of his intended challenge. He trembled on his way back, humbled, while his wife frolicked in joy. She quipped, “Such a relaxing class.” In the caption, Webber divulged, “My first Pilates class was easy…”

Presuming it to be a piece of cake, Webber joined his wife in her Pilates class after months of persuasion. In an interview with PEOPLE, he said, “Liz had been telling me about her pilates class for months, and she kind of found a passion in it. She’d been asking me to come join her. So I was like, okay, let’s do it.” When he faced the harsh truth, Webber admitted that he was surprised when he realized it was “not easy.” The couple had filmed the hilarious clip post-class to avoid hindering other participants. Yet, the sweat and exhaustion were real. “I kept looking over at him, being like, well, I told you. It’s hard for me, too,” Liz shared. She began her sessions in November and had developed her core strength over time to be able to do the workouts properly.

Meanwhile, her husband could barely hold a lunge in a single position for a minute. Hopping on the reformer machine, Webber was overwhelmed by the moving parts and cables, and ropes, making for a “new experience” for him. People shared their thoughts on Webber’s first Pilates session. @walters_mom3 wrote, “Men doing Pilates is the best. They are humbled so fast.” While @isabel.asc stated facts, “Pilates was created by a man during his time in prison. Of course, it is not easy.” “Next time, try mat Pilates, it’s even worse!” admitted @oegrgia. A viewer (@tiltedspoon) with a similar experience confessed, “Parts of me were shaking during Pilates that I didn’t even know could shake.”
