Matthew Perry always wanted love but couldn't find a woman 'he could trust,' friend reveals
Matthew Perry apparently had trouble finding a woman who 'didn't want him for his money'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A friend of Matthew Perry has stated that although the actor didn't want to be alone, he had trouble finding a woman he could trust.
Following the tragic death of the 'Friends' star on Saturday, October 28, Pierre Johnson Jr, the actor's longtime barber, provided details about his struggles with finding love, as reported by The US Sun.
Matthew Perry 'wanted to be with someone'

Pierre, who worked with Matthew from 2018 to 2022, reflected on the 54-year-old's status as a single man at the time of his death.
He told The US Sun, “He lived alone. He was a lovable guy and he didn't want to live alone. He wanted to be with someone. But it was so hard to find anybody that he could trust."
“I know he was back out there after his breakup with Molly. I do remember after a haircut, he put a leather coat on because he said he had a date that night. He was still foxy," Pierre added.
Matthew Perry 'wanted a woman who was kind to him'

He added, “He wanted a woman who was genuinely kind to him, didn’t want him for his money, and wouldn’t sue him!"
Pierre also discussed the cherished actor's desire to have a child, saying Matthew felt "happier than ever" in the past few years and had intentions to make a TV comeback.

After starting dating in 2018, Matthew and Molly Hurwitz, a literary manager, became engaged in November 2020 and ended their relationship in June 2021.
On Monday, Molly paid a touching homage to the actor on Instagram following his death in his backyard hot tub.
She began her lengthy post, "He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented."
Molly wrote, "As the Friends reunion was approaching, we rewatched the show together. 'F**k, I was so good!!!… See what I did there?' We rewound and studied scenes. Our respect and appreciation of humor is something that connected us. Being with him as he rediscovered his brilliance was magical."
She added, "But, I obviously knew that man in a very different way, too. While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known."
"No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship."
"I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Al Anon, an invaluable resource for those who love someone struggling with this destructive disease. Matty, I feel relief that you are at peace," she concluded.
Matthew Perry dated actress Lizzy Caplan
Prior to Molly, Perry spent six years dating Lizzy Caplan. The relationship ended in 2012. In his memoir, Perry wrote of their split: "All my fears reared up like a snake."
"I often think if I'd asked [her to marry me], now we'd have two kids and a house. Instead, I'm some schmuck who's alone in his house at fifty-three," he added.
