Matthew Perry pals worried about his weight gain and 'two to three packs a day' smoking habit before death

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Matthew Perry’s death has left his family, friends, and fans across the globe devastated. The ‘Friends’ actor died on October 28 at his Los Angeles home.

His body was reportedly discovered inside a jacuzzi. Reports have said that no foul play has been confirmed by cops, and a 911 call made after the tragic finding suggests that he died of “drowning”.

The official cause of death is yet to be revealed.

But RadarOnline.com has reported that days before Perry’s death, his pals were concerned for him after he gained weight and did not give up on cigarettes.

A tipster earlier revealed, “Matt plays pickleball but chain-smokes on the way to the courts and loads up on burgers and fries afterward.”

Though he wanted to be on the right track, “he still smokes two to three packs a day,” the source added.

Meanwhile, many people have paid their tribute to Perry following his death at 54.

Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice on ‘Friends’, said, “What a loss. The world will miss you, Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too-short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.”

Morgan Fairchild, who played Perry’s mother on ‘Friends’, tweeted, “I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my ‘son’, Matthew Perry. The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock.”

“I’m sending love & condolences to his friends & family, especially his dad, John Bennett Perry, who I worked with on Flamingo Road & Falcon Crest. #RIPMatthew,” she added.

Warner Bros TV reportedly shared, “We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry. Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family.”
