Michael Douglas’ daughter Carys worries actor, 79, won't be alive when she gets married

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Michael Douglas is a proud father of three children.

The 79-year-old veteran star has two sons and a daughter. He shares his eldest Cameron Douglas with his first wife, Diandra Luker.

Michael’s second son is Dylan Michael Douglas, whom he welcomed with his second wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones.

His youngest child is a daughter named Carys Zeta Douglas, whom he had with Catherine in April 2003.

Death does not scare Michael Douglas

The ‘Basic Instinct’ star reportedly does not worry about aging and death even after being diagnosed with cancer.

In 2019, he reportedly shared, “During the entire time I was going through chemotherapy and radiation, it never crossed my mind that I could die.”

Michael stated, “My mother was 92 years old when she disappeared. My father celebrated his 102nd birthday." 

“I've never thought much about death or aging – even if I admit to being sometimes distraught to see myself on the screen or in photos even ten years old! The process is accelerating.”

‘I will no longer be there when she gets married’

However, the 20-year-old Carys does not share the same outlook as her dad.

At the time, the producer disclosed that the young woman “makes me realize how old I am.”

“She often says to me: ‘Do you realize, Dad, that when I'm 25 you'll be 83?’ When she explains to me that she is afraid that I will no longer be there when she gets married, tears come to her eyes,” he added.

Michael also talked about his role as a father over a decade ago when Dylan and Carys were little.

He told The Guardian in 2010, “I'm not driven like I once was – these days I am consumed with being a father and with my responsibilities as a husband.”

“I never anticipated starting a family at my age. I'm genuinely happy to let Catherine work, while I stay at home with the children. I cherish this time,” the star noted.
