'Miserable and depressed': Matthew Perry felt embarrassed by his appearance and fizzled career in final days

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Matthew Perry’s last days had not been easy and he suposedly “miserable and depressed," as he struggled with self esteem issues.
RadarOnline.com citing insiders reported that the late 54-year-old star had been “committed to staying sober” but still battled the insecurities that led him to drugs and alcohol in the first place.

Apparently the 'Friends' star tried to appear like his normal jokester self but “things weren’t as rosy as the picture he painted on his book tour. He was miserable and depressed, despite the perception that he had turned his life around.”
As per a tipster, though Perry stayed away from drugs and hard drinks, he continued to chain smoke.

The second source also disclosed that the ‘Friends’ actor was “embarrassed by his appearance and fizzled career and felt like he wasn’t worthy to be around” his former co-stars.
“While the other Friends all continued to be successful and beautiful, he was sloppy and overweight,” they stated.
Matthew Perry was 'reliant on meds'
Another thing that devastated Perry was his separation from his finacée Molly Hurwitz in 2021.

Following Perry’s death on October 28, police officers reportedly retrieved anxiety and depression medicines from his home.
A source mentioned, “Matthew’s friends got the message he was okay, never realizing they were signing his death warrant by respecting his requests for privacy.”
They added, “If only he’d gotten more support, he may have been able to deal with the demons that devoured him in the end.”
