A smart mom of three literally turned parenting into child’s play. Chelsea Fisher, who goes by @chels.fishyy on TikTok, enlightened parents on the internet with her creative playtime trick that required little to no effort from her side. In a viral post, the mom created a makeshift tattoo parlour at home for her kids to be engaged with while she acts as the customer. All she has to do is rest on her couch while her children do all the work. This game idea served as the “perfect chill game” for the family while the mom squeezed in some rest for herself.

In a new episode, Fisher pitched the playtime idea as part of her series, “Ways to play when you hate to play.” For parents who struggle or hate pretend play with their kids, the mom of three shared a gold mine of ideas that require minimal effort while also benefiting their kids’ development. “Today we are playing Piercing Palace,” she quipped while suggesting that his idea might leave some parents uncomfortable with playing. “It was so much fun and my kids had such a great time!” the mom added. In her tattoo basket, Fisher threw in a pair of gloves, some cotton pads, play tweezers, markers, a bottle of Aloe Vera gel, and gem stickers for a realistic feel of the tattoo parlor.

The kids applied the gel on places their mom wanted to get inked. “I knew it wouldn’t irritate my skin, and I did not want them using rubbing alcohol,” the mom explained. As she lay on her couch, her two kids applied dots and pasted the gem stickers, pretending to be tattooists. Soon enough, the mom was adorned with gem stickers all over her face, fingers, and legs. “Luckily, I didn’t have any plans of going anywhere today. So, this worked out,” Fisher noted. Surprisingly, the play hack lasted longer than she had anticipated, keeping her kids busy playing while she grabbed some rest. The results also turned out to be way cooler as the mom flaunted her glimmering fingers. “This one might be too out of the box for some. This was the perfect chill game for us today!” the caption shared.

The post was a hit among viewers, receiving 109,000 hearts and hundreds of comments from fellow parents intrigued by the idea. “As a wheelchair user, this is a great suggestion for disabled adults looking after kids,” chimed @daeannknight while @emblafant hoped, “I would’ve loved this as a kid.” A fellow parent, @weis1, shared, “We used to play spa! It was so fun! My daughter would brush my hair, rub lotion on my hands. We had to stop, though, because I kept falling asleep!”

Another mom, who was a tattooist, @cast_iron_vegan, said, “I love this and I’m totally doing this.” Some of the comments talked about the skills the play idea would help the kids develop, like hand-eye coordination and motor skills. According to Brown University Health, playtime with children is essential in more ways than one. It helps them learn to share, take turns, and even develop leadership skills. Creativity and social skills are some of the other benefits.
