'Partridge Family' star Shirley Jones, 89, looks sprightly in black tracksuit in heartwarming post by son

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Shirley Jones definitely personifies the adage, “Age is just a number”. The 89-year-old looked radiant in a recently shared photo by her son Patrick Cassidy.

In the Instagram picture, Jones was seen wearing a bright red lipstick and a black tracksuit. The photo included her actor son, who wrote in the caption, “So grateful to have you in my life mom. Love you.”

The sweet post received a lot of compliments with a user saying, “She looks just beautiful! Your mom is a class act for sure.”

Another user wrote, “Shirley is such a wonderful person. She is a special lady, loved the world over. So talented and kind. How blessed you are.”

The third one commented, “She will always be Mrs. Partridge to me. Love the Cassidy family.” The fourth user added, “This is definitely one of your greatest posts. I grew up watching your mother. It does my heart good to see her. #thankyou.”

However, it seems not everyone was delighted to see the photo of ‘The Music Man’ star.

A critic shared, “She looks amazing!! But please give her a chic hairstyle - too many older women are given unattractive, almost manly haircuts out of convenience :/ your mom deserves a cute, chic style.”

The second one stated, “I totally agree! She’s such a classy lady. She needs a classy haircut come on guys. Get with it.”

But one fan slammed such judgmental comments and remarked, “What does it mean ‘give her’? She is not a doll, she makes her decisions herself! She had short haircuts many times in her life. Who are you to give your advice? Sorry, you sound out of tact.”

Even Jones’ son, Cassidy, defended his mother’s style and added, “She’s had her hair short since the Partridge Family.”

Jones is a family woman, who has three sons and 13 grandchildren.

Early in August, the legendary actress went on a vacation with her children and grandchildren. Pictures posted on Instagram by the 61-year-old Cassidy had a wholesome caption that read, “What an incredible vacation in California getting to be with my entire family.”

The caption added, “Mom, brothers, nieces and nephews, both my sons and, of course, the love of my life.”

A fan commented below the post, “How wonderful for you all and your Mom; whom we all love so very much. ☺️”

Another fan wrote, “I have loved your mom since the first movie I saw her in when I was five! Oklahoma. You are blessed ❤️.”
