Before Shania Twain was out releasing award-winning music, the country-pop singer used to work at McDonald's, and she's taken away lifelong lessons from there. She told ET Canada on Friday that while working at McDonald's, she had the opportunity to absorb important life skills. “I think I’ve enjoyed all my jobs. I can be honest about that. I like to work; I like to be busy,” said Twain, adding, “I worked at McDonald’s in several departments, but I loved the drive-thru.”

She was able to develop the positive stage persona she is now known for thanks to her customer-facing work. “I always love, like, ‘Welcome to McDonald’s, can I take your order please?’ It’s just very quite rhythmic, and I like to serve. I like to make people happy,” she said, adding, “The drive-thru was always particularly fun because you could speak to the people on the other side without seeing them. I like good service, and, you know, I learned a lot of that at McDonald’s.”

Of course, for the pop singer, it was not easy to balance this job as well as trying to make it as a singer. Twain made note of how busy her schedule was at the time with her attempts to become a successful singer. “Obviously, I was on stage at night on the weekends, and I was at Mcdonald’s after school during the week just making people happy, man.”

For Twain, her favorite Golden Arches menu item is a classic, she revealed. “The French fries. I eat them now without animal fat,” said Twain. The singer then shared that the fry station was undeniably something she loved most about the food chain. “My favorite station outside of the drive-thru was the fry station. I just love to make the perfect fry. You know, the kind you see on TV,” she said.

Twain has previously shared that when growing up, she balanced a variety of obligations, per PEOPLE. While speaking about the passing of her parents, she shared that when she found out about their death, she was not in the country. The singer had relocated to Toronto as she was attending a "computer programming" school in Toronto when she was 22 years old, developing a "backup plan" in case her singing career didn't take off on the Making Space with Hoda Kotb podcast last month.

Twain moved back to the US to take care of her younger siblings, three of four were only minors. "My younger sister was still living at home and my two younger brothers were still, you know, 13 and 14 years old," she said. "And we all agreed that they shouldn’t be separated. But no relatives were able to take both of them in. So the only way to keep them together was for us to stay together."
