How many children have you seen in your local Walmarts begging their parents for some new Hot Wheels? Cars aren't just a mode of transportation; most men hold a lifelong fascination for them. In a heartwarming incident, the owner of a Porsche 911 caught a man taking photographs of his luxurious car and decided to give him the surprise of his lifetime. On Instagram, Jacob Zander, who goes by the username @jacobzander_, shared the story of how he met Lyman, the Porsche owner. Even though they were strangers, they bonded over their mutual admiration for the car.

As reported by Upworthy, Zander shared, "So this morning I was walking around the Carmel farmer's market, and you're not going to believe what happened. So, I saw this cool (Porsche) 911, and I was like, 'Oh, I should take a picture of it.’ So, I took a picture, and this guy was walking towards it, and he opened the door, and I was like, 'Cool car!' and he said, 'Thank you.' Then he asked if I wanted to get lunch tomorrow." Zander revealed that the person had many other Porsches at his place that he was excited to show him. So after they grabbed lunch, they made their way to a garage to see Lyman's collection of Porsches.

Zander was thrilled since he was on a road trip from Eugene, Oregon, to Los Angeles and had only stopped in Carmel for a few days. Zander shared, "After that, he was like, 'Hey Jacob, do you wanna drive?' So, we took a drive, and he let me drive all around Carmel. He told me I was taking it a little bit too easy, and he wanted me to try the turbo out. He said, ‘Let's get on the highway so you can test it out.’” The video wraps up with the two driving along the coast, enjoying a beautiful sunset.

As the video went viral, netizens were equally thrilled by their new friendship. On Instagram, a person @lindsey_choate commented, “Wow, that's so precious. What a sweet memory both of you will share. I'm sure it made his day to spend the afternoon with you.” Another viewer @blessedbeyondmeasure2018 wrote, “This is the sweetest story! You probably made his day, and he was so excited to show you his other collection.” Similarly, @geoffrey_the_frenchie chimed, “What a wonderful human, my goodness! Plus a hell of a videographer, too! Love that you both had a day neither of you will ever forget.”

Their friendship highlighted the importance of connecting with others over common interests. The bond between Zander and Lyman proves Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs—that love and a sense of belongingness are just as important as other basic needs like food, water, and safety. All humans desire interpersonal relationships. As reported by BetterUp, we feel happier and more content when we share our achievements with others.
