Not all heroes wear capes; some show up in a black suit and shades, faking as a Secret Service Agent to celebrate a personal milestone. When their daughter won the class president, Lydia D (@lydiascrafting) and her husband left no stone unturned to give her a White House-like welcome after school. As Lydia posted it on her Instagram, the hilarious and borderline embarrassing feat lit up the internet with its wholesome charm, with people applauding the father’s creative efforts.

The video begins with the father speaking into a fake radio cuffed in his hand, saying, “Has the Eagle landed? Does anybody have eyes on the Eagle?” Their other daughter, sitting on the backseat, plays along with the fake scenario. “I’ll tell you when I have ‘eyes’ on the Eagle,” she quips, making inverted commas with her hands. A few seconds later, a bunch of students walk out of the school, and the father wastes no time blasting Hail to the Chief to announce the arrival of her class president daughter. Visibly embarrassed, the daughter turns to her friend with her hands to her head.

Making her way to the car while her stone-faced father stood firmly near the car door, the daughter and her classmates laughed as they watched the presidential welcome unfold. Leaning in for a quick hug from her father, the girl then quickly steps inside the car and tries to turn down the music. She grinned as the family cheered for her achievement. “Turn it down!” she requested until her sister came to the rescue. She acknowledged her family’s special effort with a heartfelt “thank you!” “POV: your daughter wins class president, so your husband does car line - Secret Service style,” an overlay text read.

The mother revealed that this snippet was a glimpse into their family dynamic. “If there’s one thing we’re going to do as a family, it’s hype each other up!” Lydia captioned the post. The video, which was viewed 3.5 million times, won people’s hearts with more than 205,000 likes. One person (@dressypaper) marked, “I love this! Looking slightly embarrassed, but she’ll treasure this for years,” while another (@ashleigh.harris31) laughed, “This is hilarious and the music blasting too.” A fellow viewer (@theliteracydive) noted, “The best! Ah! The coolest dad and memories forever to be remembered! Ben! This is so funny!”

Pointing out the kid’s hyper reaction, @trebleclefsongstress said, “That baby was so embarrassed she thought the ac controller was the volume controller. But I love it! It was a good embarrassment.” Similarly, another fan of the family moment (@mzmacgyver) lauded, “What a great example you’re setting for your family and each person you all encounter. This makes a difference, and the ripple effect is vast! Great job! Congratulations on becoming class president!” Every child has different experiences with their parents. However, fun-oriented parenting, as witnessed in the video, fosters a deeper and positive parent-child relationship.

It is likely the child will develop better emotional intelligence and social skills, often becoming successful professionals in their lives. According to the National Institutes of Health, family is the “first intimate relationship” of every person’s life, and is inspired to apply what they learned at home in their personal relationships later on. “It's also where you may learn how to constructively communicate—or perhaps the inverse, to yell and scream—when you have a disagreement,” said Mengya Xia, a Penn State graduate student.
