Artist makes impressive portraits entirely out of handwritten words

Phil Vance makes portraits that are made out of handwritten words or phrases though they look fully drawn artworks

Creating a realistic-looking portrait is hard enough. But, imagine creating a realistic typography portrait and that too with only words that are handwritten.

Phil Vance is an artist based in California who makes portraits out of handwritten words and it could just leave us spellbound by its complexity if you look closely.

As you can see he spends quite a lot of time on getting the perfect portrait.

They may look like they are drawn but getting a little bit closer would make you realize they are just made up of a thousand words.

And, if you read those words you would realize that they are quotes from the notable personalities that the artist models his work on.

He has shared his step by step artistic process on Instagram. He says, "This is how it starts."

He then adds the first layer of quotes.

Gradually he progresses with adding phrases.

He adds the handwritten words on every part of his portrait and it would take days to weeks to achieve the complete picture.

And, here's the complete picture.

He always used to make his typography portraits in black and white, but the above picture of Heather Ledger as Joker turned out to be a pretty exceptional work.

The gradual process of the artist is just engaging to look at.

And, when it reaches its final stage it just leaves us speechless.

The picture below of Albert Einstein is embedded with his famous quote, "Imagination is more important than knowledge"

Like the picture below consists of Nikola Tesla's quote, "We build but to tear down. Most of our work and resource is squandered. Our onward march is marked by the devastation. Everywhere there is an appalling loss of time, effort and life. A cheerless view, but true."
