1. People who broke your heart

While you may learn it a little later but people who hurt you, leave you, makes you stronger and mature. If your heart has been broken in the past, then it is time to let those feelings go. It's okay to get hurt and get your heart broken. It’s a part of life’s learning process. You learn from your mistakes. If it still bothers you, look at it as a life lesson. Sure, you have come out of it stronger and now it is time to let those feelings of hurt, guilt and betrayal be gone.

2. Body-shaming yourself

You are perfect the way you are. What many of us don't know is that the magazine pictures which 'inspires' us is photoshopped and these models and actress have a team of people who help them make so good looking all the time. Even in the history the poets and artists have always praised the various types of bodies women stating them as a symbol of beauty. Eating too much or starving yourself to meet society’s standards of beauty is something you should let go.

Be comfortable in your own skin. There’s nothing wrong with wearing makeup if it makes you feel more confident but, don’t wear it if you’re just doing it to seek the approval of others. Love your body like it deserved to be loved.

Everyone is good at one thing or the other. Find what you’re good at and start working on yourself. In the process, if you fail, don’t lose hope. Life is all about experimenting and trying. It’s okay to fall, but when you do, remember to pick yourself up.

5. Friends you don’t hear from anymore

Understand that with time, people change, their priorities change. With time, responsibilities increase and life get overwhelming. If you haven’t heard from your friends, don’t hesitate to text them up first. Always put your relationships above your ego.

But, if you feel that your friends are better off without you and are ignoring you on purpose, then let them go. Wish them well and move on with your life. Hard feelings won’t do you any good, don’t keep any.

6. Fears

Fears and self-doubts keep you from feeling confident and good about yourself, from experimenting, from challenging yourself. Self-doubt often makes you question our own abilities. You hesitate and back down from opportunities which could've been life-changing for you.

Let go of your fears and try to overcome them. Leave no room for self-doubt, know what you are capable of. If the idea of trying out something new freaks you out, be it a new relationship, a new job, anything at all, take baby steps at a time. Take things as slowly as you want. Don’t let your fears stop you from trying out something new.

7. Expectations

Expectations hurt, really bad. The more you expect from life, the more disappointed you will be. A life without struggles and all sunshine is a myth which only exists in movies. Be realistic with your goals. Don’t keep unrealistic expectations of yourself and anyone at all.

The key to true happiness is expecting nothing. You just mind your own business and be the best version of yourself you can possibly be. When you expect nothing, even the tiniest things in your life will bring you joy. Appreciate the little things.
