Sarah Michelle Gellar provided a positive update on her friend Shannen Doherty's cancer fight

LOD ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sarah Michelle Gellar provided a positive update on her "warrior" friend Shannen Doherty, who is battling cancer.
In an interview that was released on Tuesday, the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' alum told Access Hollywood, "She's incredible."
Sarah Gellar says Shannen Doherty is a 'warrior'

"When they say a warrior, she is a warrior. She lives every day and she’s fighting,” Gellar added. “There are ups and downs and there are days that are harder than others and there are some days that are easy, but she’s doing great.”
In June, Doherty—who received her initial breast cancer diagnosis in 2015—disclosed that the illness had progressed to her brain. Later, the 52-year-old 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum posted a video of herself laying in a hospital bed prior to surgery.
She wrote in the caption, “I had a tumor in my head they wanted to remove and also biopsy. I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified. The fear was overwhelming to me."
“Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her. Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore. This is what cancer can look like,” she said, as reported by PageSix.
Shannen Doherty on her 'fight for life'

More recently, Doherty talked about her fight with cancer when she spoke to the audience at 90s Con in September, stating that she is "crying constantly."
She added, “I have a fight for my life, that I deal with every day, I think I am really great.”
Shannen's split from Kurt Iswarienko
Even though the actress became emotional, she managed to crack jokes about her recent split from her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko. After 11 years of marriage, the ex-couple declared their separation in April.
She said, “My other profession is getting engaged, married and divorced, and I’m doing that very well."

In the meantime, Gellar, 46, has supported Doherty during her illness. In 2016, she called the former 'Charmed' actress a "muse" and posted a cute selfie with her.
In an effort to support others going through similar struggles, Gellar wrote, "I’ve always said she is one of the most loyal friends I’ve ever known, and now while she is facing the toughest journey of her life, she is sharing it with friends she has never met in the hopes of helping other people who are going through the same struggle. That’s a true friend #F—kCancer.”
