Taylor Swift fans suspect star's NFL appearance was ‘a marketing ploy’ to promote female inclusivity

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Taylor Swift has been making headlines lately for her alleged affair with Travis Kelce.

The 33-year-old singer was even seen at the Sunday, September 24 game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Chicago Bears, which the former won 41-10.

However, according to some fans of Swift, she might have been used just as “an amazing marketing play” by the NFL to present themselves as inclusive toward women, The Mirror reported.

The speculations started after the official TikTok account of the NFL wrote in their bio, "Taylor was here."

One user commented on the video-sharing platform, “One thing I will say is suspicious.. I work for a company that works with the NFL and one of their main targets this year is to have women feel included lmao this could be just an amazing marketing play.”

Another shared, “I didn’t wanna say it to u bc I knew u were excited but there’s not one thing about this that feels even remotely potentially real to me.”

“I think it could just be both and convenient for the nfl! They’re like 'well. While she’s here we might as well take advantage of it,’” the third user added.

There were a few more speculations on X (earlier known as Twitter) as well.

A person tweeted, “Taylor Swift is Not Dating Travis Kelce, it is nothing but a Marketing ploy by the NFL to increase Young Female viewership.”

Someone else wrote, “What if the whole Taylor Swift Travis Kelce thing is just a marketing ploy to get young people to watch the NFL.”

Travis Kelce dodged questions about Taylor Swift romance

This comes as Kelce previously refused to respond to rumors about his alleged relationship with the Grammy Award-winning singer.

But he did mention asking her to come to Sunday's game. He reportedly told 'The Pat McAfee Show', “It’s hilarious how much traction this has actually got."

“This is like the old school game called telephone, where everybody is just whispering in everybody’s ear. No one actually knows what’s going on,” Kelce said.

The tight end added, “I threw the ball in her court and told her, 'I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead'. You might have to come to see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit. We’ll see what happens in the near future.”
