'The world isn’t the same brother': Vin Diesel pays tribute to late Paul Walker on 50th birth anniversary

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Vin Diesel has shared an emotional post remembering his late friend and co-star, Paul Walker, on what would have been his 50th birthday.

Walker lost his life in a car accident in November 2013 at the age of 40. 

At the time, he was going to an event held for his nonprofit organization ‘Reach Out Worldwide’ with his close pal and businessman Roger Rodas, who also died.

Vin Diesel calls himself and Paul Walker ‘brothers for eternity’

Diesel posted an old photo of himself with Walker on the occasion of what would have been his 50th birthday.

The 56-year-old star wrote, “A decade… ten long years… and yet it feels like yesterday when we were singing happy birthday to you for the big 40!"

“The world isn’t the same brother… as a species, one might say we are struggling. But I think of you, and I smile and know everything is going to be alright,” he wrote in his tribute post.

The ‘A Man Apart’ actor revealed that he “was going through images to celebrate this sacred day. Memories flashing before me, one better than the next… but I couldn’t get past this one.”

However, his confusion was cleared up by one of his children, who “came into the office, and looked over my shoulder. ‘That’s such a timeless photo, Dad… one that will live on for generations of humanity…’”

Diesel then mentioned, “For me, this picture represents the moment I knew we would be brothers for eternity. January 2010, the night before you and I went to Haiti… the passion and joy you had to simply help people.”

He also added, “You said first responders shouldn’t have to wait for anyone… and that you wanted to dedicate your life to that."

“First responders… that was your true self, and you were sharing it with me, your brother,” Diesel said in the post's caption.

Meadow Walker calls late father 'guardian angel'

Meadow also did not miss the chance of honoring her late father either. 

She penned down a heart-touching note that read, “Happy birthday to my guardian angel 🤍 Thank you for your love, guidance, friendship, sunshine, and for raising me to see all of the beauty in the world.”

“You are the most kind, humble, generous, and caring soul I know,” the 24-year-old actress said, before adding, “I love you and miss you every day.”
