Toddler watching TV gasps in surprise when she sees her dad dancing in a Hilary Duff music video

In a delightful family moment, one mom captured her toddlers' priceless reaction after they saw their dad, Levin Maaskant, appearing in one of Hilary Duff’s iconic Wake Up music videos. As the reaction video was shared on Instagram by Antoinette (@antoinettemaa), it quickly went viral, gaining millions of views. In the video, Antoinette plays the music video, and her elder child quickly recognizes her dad. Explaining how Maaskant appeared in the music video, Antoinette revealed that her husband took up several modeling gigs during his late teen years.

She revealed that Maaskant is now a tech consultant, but he had earlier done some modeling too. They're from Mississauga, which is located just nearby Toronto, Ontario. As reported by People Magazine, Antoinette further said, "They shot the Hilary Duff music video for Wake Up in downtown Toronto. So, he auditioned for it." She also said, "It was a song, a whole album really, that I loved and listened to over and over again. I was around 19 when that video came out." Antoinette loves to show this music video to their kids to let them know what their dad did back in the day.

Social media users shared their reactions on the viral video, as one Instagram user, @enci.v, said, “This is the most precious and sweet thing of my week. My fav Hilary song and video. By the way, these kids are adorable!” Another person, @italian234, commented, “Awww man, this is beautiful. I love Hilary Duff, so the fact that you get to show this 2 your babies must be an awesome feeling.” A third one, @meagcline, chimed in and said, “Wait, what? I'm sorry. Of all the years I've known Levin and all the s**t in the music industry, I feel like this is his deepest secret, literally no one, I mean no one, knew this until now.”

@ally_burk also wrote, “As a 14-year-old when this bop came out, I wanted to be in that car. This is a flex.” Similarly, @kdizzzzle13 rightly said, “That’s so cool, Hilary is an icon, to be in her video is an awesome achievement.” Maaskant also opened up about the audition process for the music video, sharing that it was quite funny for him as he realized there were around 50 people who were there to audition for the same video. All of them, along with him, were also told to show their dancing skills. Maaskant felt awkward back then as he wasn't much into acting.
He also revealed that despite being a part of the music video, they didn't get a chance to meet Duff before the shooting started. Meanwhile, Antoinette further spoke about the reaction she received to the video that she shared on her Instagram. She said that many people said that it was cool, and even tagged the actress. The video received a positive response, as people pointed out how the video captured a natural reaction from the kids.
