'We made a commitment early on': Tim McGraw celebrates 27 years of marriage with Faith Hill

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Faith Hill and Tim McGraw marked 27 years of wedlock on October 6, 2023.
However, McGraw earlier shared that he is unsure if there is a "key" to making it through a marriage. The 56-year-old country crooner and the 56-year-old singer of 'There You'll Be' got married in 1996.
They later welcomed three children, Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey, and explained that they made the conscious decision early on to avoid breaking up at the drop of a hat.

Tim told ETCanada: "I wouldn't have met my wife [without my career]. I don't know if there's a key. We always say it's, you know, we'll be 27, coming up. 27 years coming up. We always say that's like 96 in show business. It's almost like dog years. We just made a commitment early on… when we first decided we were going to get married and have kids, [we decided] that we weren't going to just, you know, walk out the door when problems arose."
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are empty-nesters now
The 'Standing Room Only' singer went on to say that since their youngest left for New York, he and his wife are now sharing an empty house.
He said: "When she was 19 or 20, she moved up to New York for a year and a half. So we had the whole house to ourselves and we still do, for the most part. Our first six months, it was a little tough."
He added, “You know, because all the energy in the house and it was always full of kids all the time, you know, having pool parties and Faith and I cooking for them and all this kind of stuff."
“So we sort of kind of twiddled our thumbs and looked around like ‘What do we do? We don’t have to pick up kids or do any of this stuff.’ But then after six months, it was pretty good.”

Last year, McGraw posted a slideshow video on Instagram with images and videos of Hill over the years, along with a heartfelt message to his wife.
The video's soundtrack was the 2007 duet 'I Need You' by the legendary country stars, taken from McGraw's 'Let It Go' album. The 55-year-old musician wrote, "Wow, 26 years! To my girl, happy anniversary! @faithhill, I love you baby @faithhill."
