Jay-Z and wife Beyoncé have often been linked to the Illuminati by conspiracy nerds. Netizens argue that the power couple are quietly imposing a new global order by influencing popular culture through their music videos. The rumors began when fans pointed to one of Beyoncé's 2023 performances, which they asserted was proof the Illuminati exists.

At first look, it seemed like just another concert—Beyoncé's triumphant comeback to the stage following a five-year hiatus, which had celebrities and influencers joining in. However, online conspiracy sleuths saw it as something else. The concert's theme, the sun, which represents a journey where dreams turn into reality, piqued the interest of netizens. Critics argued it was a hidden Illuminati ritual. Some even accused Beyoncé of trying to elevate herself to divine status through her costume choices. As reported by Bolde, comments poured in with wild theories; each more imaginative than the last.

On X (formerly Twitter) a person claimed, "Beyoncé can’t sing that Dubai show was lipsynced!! Stay woke. She is a part of the Illuminati." Another bizarrely noted, "I’m not sure if the set was customized to this but if so, that backdrop is a big ol circle in the middle…not only that I just noticed the pattern on the ceiling in the center of the backdrop is a honeycomb pattern omg." As her concert clips went viral, netizens also dug up an eerie old video of Beyoncé performing. Like many artists before her, she faced bizarre claims of devil worship. Yes, you read that right!

Beyoncé, who mostly has chosen to ignore the wild conspiracy theories over the years, once shut down claims with a sharp lyric in 'Formation,' making it clear that she is not part of any secret society. The line read, "Ya'll haters corny with that Illuminati mess." However, the singer and her husband have often made the infamous Illuminati triangle hand gesture—most notably, during her 2013 Super Bowl halftime show. As over 100 million viewers watched in, the internet went into a frenzy. But in reality, the gesture had a much simpler explanation—it’s the symbol of 'Roc-A-Fella,' the record label Jay-Z founded, as reported by Bustle. But then again, is his launch of the record label an Illuminiati Easter egg?

In 2009, Jay Z said during an interview, "It's a diamond. It stands for Roc-A-Fella Records, the company I own. What happened was, we had this artist called Christión, and we made a great album on him, and we thought in the music business all you had to do was make a great album and it would sell forever, but we were naive and it didn't sell anything." He added, "We thought it was going to go Diamond [a record that sells over five million copies], so we would walk around the office going, 'We're going Diamond!' and we were so happy, and we started doing it at our shows, and it just stuck."
