Woman cancels her wedding plans to get married in a hospital just to have her parents' blessings

Parents move mountains for their children’s happiness. As they grow up, they try to give back in their own ways. When Dominque Faludi, who goes by @dominiquelissa on TikTok, got married to her longtime partner, Tom, she made a special arrangement for her mother to witness the milestone. Faludi moved the entire wedding to the hospital where her mother was admitted. Sharing a glimpse of the striking moment, Faludi’s love for her mother resonated with millions of viewers on the internet.

As she entered the hospital room in her stunning wedding gown, Faludi’s awaiting parents, dressed formally for the occasion, got emotional. Her mother could not resist letting out a joyful cry while her father’s face lit up with amazement. Faludi looked angelic in a satin dropped-hem gown paired with a full-length lace trim veil. In a brief moment, the Prince of Wales Private Hospital in Sydney transformed into a holy place that marked Faludi and Tom’s new beginning together. Faludi leaned in for a sweet kiss on the cheek from her father and then walked to her mother, who was sitting on the hospital bed in her teal gown. Sobbing, she mustered all her strength and rose from the bed to hug her beautiful daughter.

The mother-daughter duo wiped away their tears after a heartfelt embrace. Faludi penned a note for her mother in the caption. “Getting married at the hospital to have my parents walk me down the aisle,” she continued. “Mum has taught me so much in my life, one thing she always said was that who you spend the rest of your life with is the biggest decision you’ll ever make. Having her blessing and these moments mean the world to me. So grateful we could make this.” The video won hearts, receiving over 6 million views and more than 680,000 likes.

One person (@viktoriianika) wrote, “Your mom’s beauty and elegance are beaming from inside out. Lots of blessings to your family.” While another (@gorgeous.gremlin) shared their similar personal experience. “My fiancé proposed to me in my mom's hospital room the day after we found out there were no options left. She passed a couple of weeks after. It was a blessing to have that memory with her,” the comment revealed. A third viewer (@elliemakeupartist) expressed, “I can’t stop crying. This is so beautiful, sending my love your way and your family’s way.”

Faludi had taken her mother’s wish to walk her down the aisle seriously. In a previous video, the creator revealed that her mother had waited all her life to share this moment with her daughter. Hence, she simply could not afford for her to miss it, regardless of her health issues. Therefore, the couple expedited their wedding plans and decided to get married within a week of getting engaged. Her husband's family flew in to attend and even met Faludi's parents for the first time. She noted that it was rather “crazy” to organize a wedding as quickly, but she intended to make it possible for her dearest mum.

Apparently, she did not stress over her dress, the flowers, or the decor, fearing her mother’s deteriorating health. "I'm just trying to keep it all together and say yes to everything my mom wants because it is my day, but it also is her day because her whole life she's been waiting to walk me down the aisle,” Faludi admitted. It may not have been a perfect fairy-tale wedding, but it was one Faludi would cherish forever.
