Some people are destined to meet. In this case, a woman uncovered an old video from her gallery to spot a random guy in the background. Turns out, it was her fiancé crossing paths with her years before they officially met. Audrey Lynn (@audreysadventures24) enamored the internet with a striking compilation depicting the "invisible string theory"– a notion that suggests the person one is destined to meet is already attached through an invisible, intangible bond, per Verywell Mind. The snippet is one of Lynn’s most viral on TikTok, viewed over 5 million times.

The video begins with a sweet embrace between a couple in a crowded place, with people walking by them. Suddenly, a “random” man dressed in a suit and slicked-back hair appears behind them. He momentarily looks at Lynn, who is filming her friends, and then walks right past them. The video then cuts to the next scene, which becomes a moment of surprise for the viewers. Lynn and the “random” man from the previous clip share a romantic kiss while on a bridge. The overlay text revealed that the man named Ethan ended up being her fiancé years later. Not only that, she also moved across the world with him.

"She doesn’t know it yet, but the random guy that looks at her in the background of this video will end up being her fiancé, and she will quit her job and move across the world with him,” the note read. In the caption, Lynn, who hails from South Carolina, attested to the invisible string theory as “so real.” She explained, “I had no idea who the guy in the background (black suit, dark hair) of the video was when I took this, and we didn’t meet until months later.”

The friends she was filming in the first clip were also engaged, she claimed. In a chat with Newsweek, Lynn revealed that she was clearing out old photos when she uncovered the special moment on her phone. “I sent it to him and was like 'Oh my gosh, look at the date of this video, this is before we ever met. We were shocked,” the creator noted.

Apparently, they had met three months after filming the video. Lynn also expressed that she never believed in the notion that “love happens when you least expect it” until then. Owing to their relationship, Lynn moved to Budapest, Hungary, with her fiancé, where he is pursuing his hockey career. Working as a nurse for seven years, it was a big decision to make for Lynn, but she went along with it and is happily in love with Ethan. “I really never would've expected meeting him and this turning into such a special relationship." Currently, the couple is sharing the experience of living abroad together and also got engaged in the European city.

@audreysadventures24 The invisible string theory is so real because I had no idea who the guy in the background (black suit dark hair) of the video was when I took this and we didn’t meet until months later (I was the one filming the video of my friend and her bf now fiancé)🥹😭 thanks to @abby Westlund ❤️😭 second video filmed by @sarahguberphotography 🤍#invisiblestring #shedoesntknowityet #trending #fyp #howwemet #Love #engaged #Relationship #hockey #hockeylife ♬ DIM - Yves

“As someone who didn't even move away for college, if you ask anyone who knows me, they would tell you this change was much needed and it's been such a breath of fresh air for me,” Lynn admitted. Meanwhile, viewers were love-struck by the magical coincidence and shared their insights. One viewer (@havenbox) wrote, “He did stop and really look at you for a split second.” While another (@maddiereedjunior1234) said, “Lord, I've seen what you've done for others.” Someone (@anisedohr) shared her personal experience with the theory. “I have a photo of me at a BBQ with my now husband in the background. We never spoke, and then 2 years later, we ended up working together. We’ve been together nearly 10 years now,” the note read.
