Woman shares ingenious hack to find out if someone’s partner is cheating on them
Respect and trust are two pillars on which any relationship rests. If there is no trust, it is hard to feel safe and secure in a relationship. What makes us trust others—especially romantic partners—depends on individual life experiences. Also, mistrust does not happen overnight. But once it starts, it can engulf the relationship like a wildfire.
To be in a relationship when we cannot trust our partners is grueling. It can make us lose our peace of mind, be self-critical, and make us doubt our thoughts and intuitions. Sometimes, some people want to verify their own feelings to figure out if they are just assuming things about the person they want to love and trust. A woman recently went viral on TikTok for sharing an inexpensive, yet creative and clever hack to find out if you're being cheated on.
According to New York Post, Aurie Louisse posted a video on the social media platform to explain the trick. It's rather simple, she explains, while she films herself pulling down the passenger side visor, revealing a mirror, and opening the covering on it halfway.
She then closed the visor with the mirror still open. “How to know if he’s seeing someone lol #hack,” she wrote on the video, which she captioned: “Old hack but effective.”
Basically, this is supposed to let them know if someone has been in the car, because it's something that will probably go unnoticed, and the person in the passenger seat will just close the mirror's cover fully, without realizing that it was half-open the first time, thus letting the person who set up the trap know someone else has fallen prey to it.
While this might come in handy, what if that someone else was a family member or a colleague? They aren't bound to know about this little setup, are they? Safe to say, the hack divided opinion among viewers, with many commenting that other people use the mirrors as well.“1. Boys use mirrors too 2. His mom or sister or someone from his family could’ve used it 3. He might have used it 4. If u can’t trust him then break up,” one person wrote.
“I’m a boy and I use the mirrors💀 and also while you’re driving it can shift back closed,” someone else added. “Until the car hits a speed bump and it fixes itself,” a third person commented.
A lot of other comments suggested that if someone was worried about their specific other cheating on them, then the best thing to do would be to either have a difficult conversation about it or break up and move on.
Most importantly, people commented that one would only be forced to do this if they don't trust their partner, and if a relationship has no trust, then there might as well not be a relationship in the first place.
“if your gut is telling you something is off its probably true,” one wrote. “What ever happened to trust?” someone else asked. “Or if you have that much of an issue, just talk to him. If you can’t simply ask then there’s something wrong.”
