Woman's dinner date takes a wild turn after she was handed a mystery note by the ladies behind her
Two women sitting behind a woman handed her a mysterious letter while she was on a date with a man. This left her utterly confused as she sank into an overthinking spell. Lindsay, who goes by @cuteascluck on TikTok, turned to the internet for advice as the note had a warning. The video of her unsettling experience soon went viral, fetching 584,000 views and 21,000 likes at the time of writing.
“I was on a date, a third date, and the girls next to me handed me this note folded up,” Lindsay said, showing the note. The girls, who Lindsay mentioned were about 20, had scribbled a message and interrupted her date to hand it to her. She revealed that her first date with the unnamed man was on FaceTime, followed by a second restaurant date. The couple was having a good time sitting at a bar and enjoying the music. However, Lindsay mentioned that the bar was located in 'his town'. Therefore, she could not help but be concerned about the man’s history. “We were there for a while because of the ball game, and absolutely we’re together, like, very kind of PDA-ish,” she recalled, painting a picture of the date as she asked the women online for answers to the incident. Lindsay seemed disappointed and confused because the man was 'interested' in her before the note made her bail. After she returned from the bathroom, the girls were about to leave. “One of the girls stops…she grabs my hair and is like, ‘Oh my God, you’re hair is so pretty. You’re so beautiful. I just had to stop you, and I wanted to give you this,” Lindsay narrated.
After handing her the note, they walked off, leaving Lindsay in a dilemma. Curious, her date questioned her about the context of the note as she explained that she didn't know it herself. As she peeked at it, she saw, “Just know” written in big letters. Soon, she took another bathroom break to read the whole letter. It stated, “You can do better.” This left Lindsay calculating every possibility that could have encouraged the girls to write the note. “Did he hit on them?” Do they know him around town? Were they just being like girls’ girls?” With no possibility for a clarification as the girls had already left, the woman, in her late 40s, remained disturbed for the rest of her date. She mentioned that the man was in his early 50s, so the age difference was probably not a factor.
The man was everything she wanted and was ready for a commitment, Lindsay noted. Yet, the handwritten note was rather alarming. “What did these girls see? Or are they just being like girls?” she asked. In response, several women chimed in in the comments. A person (@itsmvg2u) wrote, “We don’t pass notes unless we are warning you,” while another (@becdorn) pointed out, “Have you ever written a note to someone? No? There is your sign.”
