On September 11, 2003, Ritter began experiencing severe nausea and vomiting while filming '8 Simple Rules'. He was then taken to a nearby hospital, St. Joseph's, as reported by LA Times.

Yasbeck recalled that tests were carried out in 2008 when a doctor informed her that her husband had an aortic dissection—a condition she'd never heard of before.

Sadly, the 'Three's Company' star died unexpectedly from an undetected aortic dissection hours later on the same day.

Ritter's widow was left behind to raise their child alone and she eventually became a grandmother.

When did  Amy Yasbeck and John Ritter met?

Ritter and Yasbeck met in 1990 while working on a table read for 'Problem Child.' The pair quickly bonded over their love of comedy and watched old shows together, with him teaching her things like how to take a fake punch. The couple tied the knot in 1999.
