Youngest sister asks her family not to act 'weird' around her boyfriend — Yup, they were very weird

As teenagers, we all remember praying our family acts chill around our friends at birthday parties or sleepovers. But this was too much of a bargain for the Winter family when their youngest brought home her special someone to introduce to her family. TikTok creator Courtney Winters (@courtneywinters) proudly shared a video of how her family treated her younger sister, Kylie’s new boyfriend Joe, despite a former promise about acting normal. “Don’t be weird,” Kylie requested her mother a couple of days ago while informing her that she was to invite Joe home. What went down was a story for any future grandchildren she might have with Joe.

"My sister brought her boyfriend over for the first time... She told us not to be 'weird,'" the text on the video declared. It was a small ask but the Winters barely paid heed to it. In the video, the family is seen standing rather ominously with folded arms and in a formation as if waiting for the couple to arrive. As soon as they did, Kylie and Joe momentarily hesitated before popping out of the car. He walked towards the crowd of seven who moved with their arms held up adjacent to each other to form a human tunnel. It was the boyfriend’s cue to pass through it before coming face to face with Kylie’s dad, standing at the end of the tunnel.

As family members giggled, Joe passed under with a little wave. Feeling awkward yet amused, he watched as the family quickly dispersed and reassembled into a tunnel for Kylie to do the honors. Although visibly embarrassed by her family’s antics, she could do nothing but oblige to the prank.

The Winters later spilled what led to the clever plan. In an interview with 'Good Morning America', Kylie’s mother shared, “My youngest daughter was bringing her boyfriend over for the first time, and she had told me a couple days ago: 'Mom don't be weird.' That day, when everyone was gathering, she went to pick her boyfriend up and I said to everyone, she said, 'Don't be weird,' so then the ideas started flying.” Her father was pretty content about how the meeting unfolded. He shared that the joke helped 'break the ice' since Kylie and Joe are both introverts. He said, “So, I think that was a really good introduction to, hey just be here and be comfortable."
