13-Year-Old Boy Trades His Xbox To Buy a Car For His Hardworking Mother
Love can give one the strength to achieve anything. It was through the power of love that William Preston, just at the age of 13, was able to achieve the remarkable feat of buying a car, as reported by Kolotv. William was aware that his mother was working day and night to provide for him and his siblings. He wanted to relieve her of some stress and also bring some joy. Therefore, he decided to buy her a car to ease her life.
Krystal Preston's joy knew no bounds after receiving the gift. She was recuperating from an unfortunate circumstance, and the responsibility for her children and pets was solely on her shoulders. During this time, she had no mode of transportation. Seeing her struggle with commuting, her son gifted her the car. More than the car, Krystal was touched by her son's thoughtfulness and shared, "Everybody goes through rough patches in their life, but there's good that can come from any situation as long as somebody with a heart does it."
William has always been responsible and did yard work to support his family in some way. One day he saw on YouTube how people were surprising their mothers with a car and immediately wanted to replicate the deed. He started to scroll through his social media and saw an advertisement for a 1999 white Chevrolet Metro by a woman. He immediately connected with the women. Remembering the conversation, William said, "It was really cheap, so I asked her if I could trade it or earn it, and at first she said no, and after she thought about it, then she said yes". The woman and William then met for negotiations and agreed to trade the car in exchange for his Xbox. His mother could not believe the news until she really saw the car.
The mother-son pair were welcomed by the woman selling the car, who took them to the parking space where the gift was. After the paperwork, the car was theirs, and they took it with them. Since then, they have had to do some work on it, but for Krystal, the thought behind the car makes it perfect. Krystal was obviously overwhelmed. "The fact that my kid did this, I'm proud but as a mom I'm supposed to be able to take care of my kids, I'm supposed to do this, not the other way around".
She shared this on her Facebook page, and it quickly went viral. The next day, she had various outlets in front of her house wanting her opinion about the heartwarming act. It was shocking for the family as a whole. As far as William is concerned, he emphasized that he did not do it for clout but because he wanted to make his mother happy in her stressful situation. The mother's pride was evident as she said, "I can't even express it; there are no words that can express my gratitude and how proud I am." It has been almost 3 years since the incident.
