A 64-year-old grandma stole the show at 50 Cent concert as she casually grooved to rap music

Music is for all but when it comes to modern genres like rap and hip-hop, it is presumed to be a thing for the younger generation. However, the fierce energy of an internet-popular grandma, Mary Jane Farquharson has inadvertently pushed the boundaries of the music sphere as she simply enjoyed herself at rapper 50 Cent’s concert in England. Back in 2023, the 64-year-old granny was spotted grooving to the rap lyrics surrounded by youngsters. Someone from the concert crew captured the iconic moment and shared the footage with 50 Cent himself. The five-time Grammy winner then posted it to his official X handle, @50Cent, with an enthusiastic note lauding the grandma’s vibes.

In the brief snippet, the grandma stood near the railing and grooved to the beats with her arm raised. She wore a white sweater and her glasses and barely seemed to spot the camera on her while attending the concert with her son. The fact that she was the only one of the age standing amidst a crowd of young people spoke about her extraordinary way of life. Moreover, her lively personality shone through and was publicly commended by 50 Cent. “The coolest person at my show tonight by far, she was rocking with me. Birmingham's second show. LOL,” the rapper captioned the post. Her fun persona also has a name, ‘Momma Jane’, something her son’s friends call her, as reported by BBC.
She said "You’re not going to leave me out, I'm gonna party like it's my Birthday" 😂🔥

Watching 50 Cent perform was a bucket list check for Farquharson, who hails from Nuneaton. Going to bed with a content heart, the thrill was barely over. The next day, she opened her eyes to a flood of messages and notifications on her phone. She had gone viral! "I didn't take any notice of it. I thought, 'I will deal with that later',” she said in typical grandma fashion. Everyone she knew was pinging her up about her presence at the concert, to the extent that she believed it could be a “wind up.” Although, Farquharson does not identify with the label of an “old lady. "If you meet me, I'm not. I can hold my own with anybody, young or old,” she quipped. Simply put, this mindset is what separated her from being typecast as a senior citizen.
While the grandma figured out what the big deal was, millions of people watched her groove to 50 Cent’s raps and cheered for her in the comments. “She was too Cute…Age is nothing but a number… @50cent brings all ages out!!!” wrote an excited X user (@AnderanaNycole) while another (@WalterSith37493) chimed, “Heartwarming gangster ish.” “Everyone’s grandma should do this from time to time. Hilarious,” wrote someone else (@semiAutoDave). A person (@chantasia22) wrote, “Holly Molly 50cent you got all vibing...Wow.”

Meanwhile, such feats are normal for Farquharson as she mentioned watching MTV on her television all day during her chat with the news outlet. She was originally introduced to 50 Cent and rap music by her son Ross, 38, who was also present alongside her during the concert. It goes without saying that Eminem is also one of her favorites, like any other R&B fan. Rap music is a staple in her home and 50 Cent’s hit track, In Da Club, happens to be her mobile ringtone. She claimed that she had a blast at the concert and was not aware that somebody had filmed her. "I thought he was filming the crowd behind me, I'm not special,” the grandma said. She is special though.
