Airport lounges are meant to be spaces where passengers can grab a bite and relax before boarding a flight. That's why it isn't common for a passenger to get reprimanded for taking food with them from the lounge to their flight. But one Reddit user u/zaftpunjab landed up in an unpleasant situation at Delta Sky Club in Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), just for taking a banana from the lounge.

"I got reported for trying to take a banana out of the lounge! Someone tell me this is all a nightmare and my $700 a year isn’t a complete waste. I just wanted a banana," their Reddit post read. "I’m getting bullied that this never happened. This happened at the Delta lounge in MSP. I know the exact time because I texted my boyfriend right after it happened. If anyone would like to check out my story. I also erased the details about the rep. She was just doing her job."

However, if we take a look at the list of rules laid out by the Delta Sky Club, they do mention that food and beverages may not be removed from any Delta Sky Club. The Delta agent was only doing her job by reminding the passenger about the rules but then again, countless travelers take flights, stop by the lounge, and grab an apple or banana. It is not entirely uncommon. Those who encountered the Reddit posts and fellow Delta passengers decided to carry out a hilarious revolt. They started posting pictures of themselves sneaking out a banana, oranges, or similar snacks on their way out of various Delta lounges.

Many others mentioned their personal experiences with Delta Airlines and recounted similar shenanigans in the comment section of the Reddit post. u/Nasty_Ned joked, "I stuck two bags of peanuts in my backpack. Also a package of vanilla cookies. I’m a hardened criminal now. I won’t share the Sky Club location so it takes them longer to break up my criminal syndicate." u/Puzzleheaded_Age8937 commented, "Technically no food and beverage are to leave the Sky Club according to their house rules. It’s not often enforced though. I put a snack in my tote, but walk out with a to-go coffee cup all the time." u/Apprehensiveduckx took to Reddit and clicked a picture of them holding up a banana they carried from another lounge with pride.

u/loonsjalkapallo shared the picture of a banana in a bathroom stall and wrote, "Found a banana available in the MSP F/G Sky Club bathroom stall. Apologies to the other folks in the bathroom for the random laughing you might have heard from me." u/EllemNovelli also shared a similar post and quipped, "Y'all had me scared and feeling like I was shoplifting when I walked out of the SkyClub.. Staff midway to the exit were eyeing me, and the agents at the exit were eyeing me. I was starting to worry I was going to be stopped and frisked for additional snacks and then get kicked out. I made it out successfully!"
