The response of the 8-year-old child was also shared on a social media platform by his dad, and people found the kid reasonable.

When kids are asked about their future career goals, their answers are often astronauts, doctors, teachers, and other similar professions. However, one 8-year-old child's unexpected response to this question shocked his teachers, parents, and everyone else. The child wrote his answer in response to a fill-in-the-blank question on a worksheet given by his school. His unusual response was also shared on Reddit by his dad, who goes by the username u/ChuckySix, leading to hilarious comments.

He mockingly wrote, "My son has his future mapped out." The worksheet had a few simple questions like favorite color, favorite food, and favorite movie. But there was one fill-in-the-blank that read, "When I grow up..." Answering this, the child wrote, "I will get hit by a bus." Just like us, the parents of the 8-year-old were also shocked, as reported by Newsweek. They said that when they first saw his answer, they were confused about what it meant, and they still don't know what it means. They said, "Our kid has some extremely unique questions and remarks. We were just as shocked as probably everyone else who read it."

The post has since received thousands of likes and comments, with people guessing the reason for the child's response. One Reddit user, u/Hydrocare, commented, "Ah yes. Classic truck-kun and then getting reincarnated as the villain of the last novel he read." Another person, u/AdImpressive3641, expressed his concern and stated, "I’d look into that 'get hit by a bus' portion of his future if I were you, maybe he had a final destination style dream?" Similarly, u/fanceypantsey chimed in and wrote, "Working in personal injury, people do make a career out of being hit by a bus, cars, slipping and falling, etc."

Several others shared their similar stories in the comment section. One Reddit user, u/Hydra_Hunter, commented, "He's just like me! When I was in kindergarten, they gave us sheets to fill out like this, and a question on it was What would my life be like in 70 years? Other kids wrote like an astronaut, a famous person, or a rich person. I drew a tombstone." Sharing another hilarious moment, u/InitiativeOk90 wrote, "When I was in 3rd grade, I had recently moved to the United States. I filled out some paper like this, but instead of asking 'when I grow up', it asked what I wanted to be in the future. English wasn’t my first language, so I understood future as another dimension that was futuristic. So, I said I wanted to be a dog."

Others also pointed out the kid's drawing on the worksheet and the rest of his answers. Meanwhile, his parents further opened up about his taste in food and music and said that, in that matter, he's very similar to them. The dad revealed that he and his son are frequent listeners of old school songs, mainly hip hop. Speaking of his love for orange chicken, his parents revealed that it was his sister who made him try it. However, last year, the little boy reportedly preferred fettuccini alfredo. Furthermore, the parents also said that their son was silly and goofy, and emotional and tough at the same time.
