The video captures the sweet moment when a baby wakes from a deep nap and his eyes open wide in surprise. Soon, the initial confusion fades, and he realizes that he was sleeping peacefully between his parents. His face then lights up with a joyful smile. The overlay text on the video reads, "When you wake up from your nap and realize you were never transferred to the crib and are still between mom and dad." In the video’s caption, the woman admitted to feeling guilty about taking two weeks off from work, but soon realized it was worth every minute she spent with her family.

She added, “It’s true when they say time flies, so doing our best to cherish the small moments in an attempt to slow it down.” A few social media users were in awe of the adorable moment. One TikTok user, @kaylarayjones, commented, “If that doesn’t make you smile, I’m convinced you have no heart.” Another person, @kytone, shared her similar experience, saying, “My two-year-old has always co-slept for naps. He naps in my bed, and he reacts like this every day. Like he can’t believe I’m still next to him. It’s the best feeling; I never want it to end.” @starship6996 also said, “I co-sleep and love waking up to the smiles and hugs every morning.”

Parents always feel the urge to stay close to their baby, and many believe that sleeping with the baby makes them feel more secure and comforted. Cynthia Epps, a lactation educator at the Pump Station located in Santa Monica, California, gave her views on this. As reported by Parents, she said, "There is an instinctive need for the mother to be close to her baby." She added, "Keeping the baby close, with skin-to-skin contact, calms the baby. And it can cement the emotional bond between mother and child." In many parts of the world, kids often share beds with their parents.

However, on the other hand, Lynelle Schneeberg, a director of the behavioral sleep program at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, believes that sharing a bed with kids could lead to other issues as they grow up. According to Schneeberg, it's more important to teach children to sleep independently than to focus on the short-term benefits of co-sleeping. The expert explained that children who struggle to fall asleep without a parent beside them might sometimes be wrongly labeled as anxious. Needless to say, children also tend to disturb their parents' sleep by tossing, turning, or kicking all night.
